The world is a challenge. Some respond.
But some just smile and go beyond.
Beyond the mundane, dreary same,
Into a lofty world they aim.
You see challenge, they see fun!
And that's the way the game is won.
A smile can turn the hardest heart,
Into a wicked, aching part,
That seethes with anger without cause,
That plots a course ignoring laws.
It's jealousy, I have to think,
To push these others to the brink,
When only excellence is shown,
They're jealous it is not their own.
The rest of us identify,
With testing wings, and then to fly,
Out to a wider world we see,
Where challenges are meant to be,
Welcomed with the open arms,
And smiles we see among her charms.
