The episode of “Big Bang Theory” taught me the magic words to shut up Pat: “It’s a non-optional social convention.” Also might work on Bill, although he’s been known to respond to, “Your grandmother will leave all the money to somebody else.” A kid who plans a career as a slacker wants to stay on the right side of the inheritance, right?
You would think so, but kids don’t notice the future enough.
