But the Military discriminated against 55,790 service members for hwo they are (Overweight /or failing to meet and maintain fitness standards)

Is the 'overweight' based on being fat, or the BMI calculations which just don't work out for anyone with above average muscle development?

I am not sure what standards ,if any were used in the discharges I witnessed.I do know several of the service members I knew ,or had some contact with (same unit, etc.) many many of them it seems were discharged over personality conflict rather than actual violation of Military standard. As with those discharged for alcohol/drug use— I know the Army
was quite tolerant of certain types of drug/alcohol use-myself
included—but it seems most often the discharges occurred after some personal conflict that embarrassed someone higher up the chain. Such politic seems the endemic failior of the system as a whole and is not addressed by this stupid “change” in the law allowing homosexuals serve openly.
