Why didn’t any of our Senators do this during the health care debate?

Because the didn't have enough votes to sustain a filibuster.

Give Sanders credit for one thing: He openly and publicly and honestly calls himself a socialist. Wish the rest of his pathetic damn party would follow his example.

IIRC, as long as a Senator is speaking and refuses to yield, there’s no need to hold a vote to sustain the veto - right? The Senator in question could speak on and on.

I can’t decide which DemocRATS love more, abortions or taxes. Reductions in either sends them into fits of rage.

Bernie Sanders is a big windbag of smelly flabbergas! I’ve been watching long enough to see that he never follows through with any of his grandstanding threats.

Mr. Sanders goes to Washington.

At least he sticks up for what he thinks.

Where are Boehner and McConnell?

Why do the put an I after his name? - he is a socialist that caucuses with the democrats, making him either a democrat or a socialist or both.

Nice scenery, good restaurants, etc. but the politics—
Dean, Lahey, Sanders, etc.—yuck! They had a Repub gov for awhile but he didn’t stand for re-election and the Lt Gov
Brian Dubie lost to a Dem, narrowly.

Am sure any exposure to Burlington, Montpelier, etc. media will make anyone feel like they’re on a diff planet.

Remember driving through one time when Sanders was up for re-election and the radio kept playing ads with his NYC
accent evident (”Hoy! Oym Boynie Sandizz!”) and I’d think,
how can the people of such a beautiful state vote for this guy over and over?

Any one can call a point of order. If 60 vote to end the 'debate' then they go to vote. End of filibuster.

Yes, I hope he does filibuster and prevents this tax bill from passing. Hopefully, we can achieve total elimination of the estate tax and continuation of Bush tax cuts in January. Plenty of time to achieve our goals.

Go Sanders! I hope he succeeds is sinking this spending bill. When the Republicans take over next year, they can put a tax bill on the table that actually cuts taxes. One that doesn’t increase spending.
