Nader: Obama’s a “con man,” hints at indie run in 2012
Hot Air ^ | 10 Dec 2010 | Ed Morrissey

No good progressive rebellion would be complete without hearing from Ralph Nader, and the two-time presidential candidate and notorious spoiler finally weighed in on the tax deal Barack Obama cut with the GOP. Needless to say, Nader is less than impressed with the President, and demanded a primary challenge from the left to defeat the “con man” currently in the White House. And if one doesn’t step forward, well, Nader might pull his campaign out of mothballs and give it one more go himself:

“He has no fixed principles,” Nader said, of Mr. Obama. “He’s opportunistic — he goes for expedience, like Clinton. Some call him temperamentally conflict-averse. If you want to be harsher, you say he has no principles and he’s opportunistic.”

“He’s a con man,” Nader continued. “I have no use for him.”

Nader urged a progressive candidate to challenge Mr. Obama for the presidency in 2012, and said that while he wasn’t altogether disallowing the possibility of running himself, it was time for a new progressive leader to step forward.

“Nader does described the Dude accurately !!!”

i don’t agree with Nader’s politics, but at least he’s up front and honest about what he believes in.

The irony is that Nader declares Zero a con artist for the wrong reasons. The fact is that Zero is a foreign born raghead socialist who never should have been president in the first place. That’s the greatest con of all.

"and said that while he wasn't altogether disallowing the possibility of running himself,"

The real News would be if He DIDN'T run.

Gonna have to agree with Ralph on his accurate description!

Divide the Democrat party, we’re counting on you buddy!

I think that some analysts are missing the boat when discussing possible primary challenges to the President. The ones that I am talking about are the ones who doubt that a challenger will emerge because it would virtually guarantee a GOP victory in 2012 by dividing and weakening the Democrat Party.

However, I think that sometimes true believers rebel against the sitting leader of their party even knowing this-- because they believe that an honorable loss is better than a dishonest sell out.

Given that his candidacy cost Al Gore the White House in 2000, I have got to believe that Ralphie knows all of this.

Cool choice of cars!

...not quite as unsafe as when the book was written.

That one probably only goes about as fast as a Volt at this point.

I think Nader gets away with it is because again, he is the darling of the left....the media wouldn’t attack him...Their heads must be exploding as to who to side with..

Looks just like my first car. Except the front end on mine was crushed when I totaled it. Always thought of that as a joke on Nader since, without an engine in the front, the car, labelled “unsafe at any speed” by Ralpie, probably saved my life and my girlfriend’s life. Because the front end crumpled and absorbed the impact we wound up with a couple of bruises. If it had an engine in the front we would have gone through the windshield.

I disagree. A con man 1) can prove where he’s born, 2) has much higher morals, and 3) probably could get through an entire sentence without a teleprompter.
