Looking for Mr. or Mrs. Right

Surveying the crop of would-be Republican presidential contenders in 2012, some Christian leaders can’t muster much enthusiasm.

“The supposed frontrunners have all got problems,” says Richard Land, president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission and a prominent leader of the religious right. Mitt Romney? “He put ‘Obamacare Light’ in place in Massachusetts,” says Land. “It’s going to be awfully difficult for him to surmount that.” Sarah Palin? “Her problem is her very high negatives. Evangelicals want somebody they like, but they also want somebody who can beat Barack Obama.” Mike Huckabee? “The problem Mike’s got is that he and Sarah Palin are appealing to the same base, and Sarah has stronger appeal to that base.” And Newt Gingrich? “Two ex-wives is one ex-wife too many for most evangelicals.”

Sarah Palin? “Her problem is her very high negatives. Evangelicals want somebody they like, but they also want somebody who can beat Barack Obama.”

Richard Land's lack of courage or faith as a so-called evangelical is appalling. If Sarah Palin's very high negatives are the only thing that he has against her, we don't deserve to beat Obama. I don't want to elect a president just to say we won. Washington DC needs fumigating and I doubt like hell any of Palin's opponents are up to the job.

She has not taken a position one way or the other, publically.

I am very confident, however, given all of her support for Pro-life candidates, Pro-Life issues, that she would sign the bill with no hesitation.

DeMint, Pence, Rounds, and Bolton. But no ALTARS, just $$. And since I’m such a feminist, I’ll even pick Bachmann as my favorite VP choice.

Perhaps. But if so, she gave a very lousy answer last time she was asked about her position on abortion.

Don't know.

I do know, that her support for LOST was stated while she was VP for McCain. As you already know, as a VP, you are required to promote the positions of the candidate.

She said she supported TARP too at the same time, even though in her first book she pointed out that she had forcefully pointed out to McCain behind the scenes that this was not the right path to take.

Since then she has come out against TARP, the Auto Bailouts etc.

She has not since the General Election of 2008 concerning START.

I also know concerning START, that many of the onerous issues have been dealt with, including the Taxing authority, which according to John Bolton (Who supported it before he went against it), stated was no longer part of the treaty.

I dare say you will probably find her coming out against the START treaty when she feels it is necessary.

I agree with Bolton that these are issues best resolved at the state level.

Actually, they are best resolved at the personal level, without any government involvement.

I disagree with Bolton, some things are wrong on ALL levels and shouldn't be tolerated by society and that's just the problem. We have this problem(abortion, perversion, etc) because government got involved in the first place. Now the only course of action social conservatives have it to take back our government, our country and kick those out of power that have caused all this damage.

Wrong answer. She was not even being mentioned at the time in Sept 2007. McCain was in the depths of despair, in danger of losing when she wrote that letter imploring Murky and Co to pass it.

And she has never refudiated TARP. Only how the O administration bungled it. Just like Mittster said.

And for the record, Bolton did not support LOST. Rather he said he would support it as Bush's employee.

START is a different animal altogether.

30 years ago, some may have had an excuse (ignorance) for believing the media tripe.

At this time, anyone that believes anything they read in the mainstream is simply missing sufficient neurons to create a thought.

Apparently you have not read her current book where she comes out against it and have also not done your research on this issue.

Quick Fact: Despite her previous support, Palin bashed TARP as "crony capitalism "

Have you told any of those one percenters yet that they’re running? And even if they were, they’d be coming in with too little, too late. Like it or not this race is between Palin, Huckabee and Romney. Romney will be pulling the GOP establisment RINOs, Palin the Tea Partiers and Huckabee his huckafans. I’m solidly with the Tea Party on this one. And Pray we can knock off Romney, the abortionist big government statist.

What does 2007 have to do with anything?

Didn't TARP come to pass in 2008 during the Presidential Primaries?
