They aren’t Christian in any sense that I can recognize.
When have they ever claimed to be conservatives? Or liberals for that matter?
My view is that at this point they are mainly a lawsuit factory, posing as a hate group, posing as a church. Either that or a combination lawsuit factory/hate group posing as a church.
I read an article a couple of years ago that indicated their main goal now seems to be to provoke local law enforcement into “violating their rights to free speech” so they can sue for profit.
Whatever their true motives, they are descipable and clearly not real conservatives or more importantly real Christians.
They seem to be one of the few things that liberals and conservatives agree on. If you are every at a family gathering and the political discussions start to get too contentious, bring up Westboro Baptist and you’ll have instant unity. :-)

I believe you are right. They are trying to smear Baptists and conservatives at the same time by pretending to be both.
