As much as I support the Chinese dissident who will be honored by the Nobel committee, I think such symbolic acts by the U.S. Congress are a waste of time.
Certainly this “lame duck” session has more important matters of material worth to American citizens that it could focus its time and attention to.
That said, if instead they were legislating a special grant of political asylum for him, that would have actually been doing something real.
