BRISBANE, Australia
(Excerpt) Read more at msnbc.msn.com ...
But is he responsible for obtaining stolen goods and using it without returning it, which make him a criminal?
the man has a point.
Remember when Apple went after gizmodo after they bought a lost iphone 4 from someone who found it at the bar. Instead of returning the iphone 4 to Apple, they leaked the details to the internet
“The Australian government on Wednesday blamed the United States, not the WikiLeaks founder, for the unauthorized release of about 250,000 secret U.S. diplomatic cables and said those who originally leaked the documents were legally liable.”
Exactly correct...
Information is not a good to return it. As for a classified info the one who officially adressed in responsible to keep it secret.
So legally it is a fault of officials who let it leak.
Anyway, Assange is a bastard or a pawn or both there.
Nice guys finish last and the scum are always looking to game the system. If you can crush this creep then crush him.
Information he has on his hard drive (or whatever electronic media he use as storage DVD, CD), which he could return if he choose to, instead of leaking it
I see no difference between Stolen Information and Stolen Goods. I certainly don’t think he’s a traitor or a terrorist. More of a spy or a thief that steals from other countries not his own
How do the international community deal with pirates?
You mean they weren’t impressed with Gibbs ludicrous statement that Obamao wasn’t afraid of a guy with a laptop and a $35 domain?
The new leftist talking point is that the leaks prove that Obamao is brilliant.
Why didn’t Zer0 pursue this scoundrel?
Why didn’t Zer0 pursue this scoundrel?
So let me get this straight. If you leave you house and forget to lock the door. And I come along and rob your unlocked house. It is really your fault? Is that what the Aussies are saying?
You are right considering books, movies or sofware.
As for leaks I doubt it was copyrighted by State Dept.
Yea, or
If an American steal a fighter jet from Australia and then fly it back US. How do Australia deal with this thief? The thief certainly didn’t break any US law, let him go free!!
To some extent, I agree. Obama knew that he (Assange) had the goods and did nothing to stop him...making himself as culpable as Assange. The State Dept. had to know, as well as the DOJ. Nobody did anything, probably thinking that he’d stop after leaking the Bush years documents, which would make the left very happy. But when he didn’t stop...OMG! This regime is a destructive one, to say the very least. Will America ever recover from this?
Talk about taking America down a notch or two from our super power status...Obama makes America look like a wet paper bag! Wea re the laughing stock of the world, except nothing here is funny in the least.

“Information he has on his hard drive”
He has an underground “Dr Evil” type complex in Sweden - check out the pictures here:

Maybe our government should start taking these leaks more seriously.
