Well the gay blade Bradlye Manning was the source for the data, Assange supplied the Internet server.
Assange is Australian citizen, not a US citizen he is under no obligation to protect US secrets.
I understand the anger at Assange but the treason began with Manning.

Keeping Wikileaks in the news keeps Manning out of the news and stops people discussing how well mainstreaming sexual sociopaths has worked.
