President Obama needed a little help from the troops in Afghanistan on Friday as he thanked the military branches for their work but forgot to mention the Coast Guard.
“I think we've got every service here tonight,” Obama said at Bagram Air Base. He then called on the branches as their members cheered: “We’ve got Army. We’ve got Navy. We’ve got Air Force. I think we may have a few Marines around, too.”

I understand your point, but our Nation's Finest does not put their lives on the line on military orders from Gene Simmons. He's an entertainer, whom I appreciate his dedication of time to our servicemen & women.
tHE oNE is supposed to set the highest example. His casual, if not privately-hostile, attitude towards our military is insulting. He deliberately set the bar on himself too high, therefore IMHO only, he's fair game for ANY criticism when it comes to how he treats our military.
A handful of Coasties are located at Bagram Air Field. They are part of a Coast Guard Redeployment Assistance and Inspection Detachment (RAID) Team out of Kuwait. Their purpose is to facilitate the containerized redeployment of DOD material back to the United States.
Yes, Coast Guard have been deployed throughout the War on Terror to do training.
I had to join the Navy because the CG was already full of draft dodgers.
“Draft dodging” wasn't a bad thing when you joined a service other than the Army and Marines—so as not to end up as a grunt humping the paddies in the sights of Kalashnikovs.
You still ran the risk of combat.

Yeah, the Coast Guard, I am surprised that the CIC doesn’t even know how many services there are. The Coast Guard was a service before the Marines were, the Marines used to be an attachment to the Navy, now they are their own service.
That was my question, where was his TOTUS.
This thread is not about weather he respects the military or not (we all know he doesn’t). It’s about him not mentioning the Coast Guard. Got to be careful throwing these things out, because someone can always dig for videos of high level people on our side doing the same. Just saying.
President Bush wouldn’t have forgotten and if he had it would be all over the network news.
Like someone said earlier, the Coast Guard is probably happy he doesn’t know them. Besides, Obama said “every branch of the service”, unless you think the GC is not a service.
Look at what they did to Sarah Palin over North Korea, South Korea. No mercy for Barry.
And pointing out that he didn't mention the Coast Guard was meant to show what? That he doesn't respect the military. You can find one instance of such neglect for almost anyone. With Hussein you need a calculator to total it up.
He said he was going to keep track of the slights against him. We're keeping track of his slights too.

Oh! Oh oh oh! Looks like the press finally got a clue about who it is they have pushed on America.
Hey Main Stream Media!!!: We no longer trust you at all! We know why you are not fighting Net Neutrality as hard as you should be! You don’t like the competition, and worse, we are finding out the truth WITH OUT YOU. Which means, WE DON’T NEED YOU anymore.
Now that you are pulling your heads out of Obama’s..... camp, you will see what it is you have done. We know all about that here already. The Tea Party isn’t so much a lot of middle of the road people. Neither extreme right or extreme left, but with out a doubt, we are center right, which is EXACRLY what the demographic of the Tea Party! Not that you all in the press have noticed this glaringly obvious fact.... There are democrats in the Tea Party, a pretty fair number 20% or so I saw in one poll or another, Independents too, you see the Tea Party is only about 60% Republican. It takes no intelligence to guess the make up of the rest... Democrats and Independents... Maybe... Ya think? (rolls eyes). I digress, *ahem.
With the recent stories coming out in the last couple of weeks... the press has turned against Obama. Its only a matter of time now.... the zipper on the lips of the NY Times might finally be coming loose.
Did he give a shout-out to his other troops - the New Black Panthers, the Weathermen, and the Symbionese Liberation Army?
