Maybe he’ll do a presentation on other job opportunities if they don’t like this job. That’ll encourage them.

Is this visit going to boost morale or crush it?

Don't say things like that. You lower the tenor of debate on this site. You draw unnecessary attention to yourself and free republic.

As another poster said, do you want Biden to be president? Or Pelosi? Because that is the line of succession right now.

Besides all that, don't you think the taliban want him as president? Who do you think they would have voted for the last time around?

“If his presence in the area gives any portion of our forces there ANY encouragement or confidence, I support it.”

As the father of a Marine who just returned from Afghanistan, I can tell you that Skippy is not very well respected by the troops, as they know they’re just being played for a photo op during these visits. Look at Mr. Tough Guy. Yeah, right.

When he showed up in the mess hall at Marine Corps Base Hawaii to show that he was “just one the guys”, he had a hard time getting any of the Marines to sit at his table.

Our warriors aren’t dumb.

BO is probably in Afghanistan to help the Taliban target the informants exposed by BO’s WikiLeaks.

I can only relate my experience to you. In 1968 when I was in basic training, I got a pass off base and got to see President Johnson in San Antonio speaking in a large open gathering. I didn't know him from Adam at the time, but was still encouraged to see him - even though I now realize he was a total bastard. Even if there is a very small percentage of soldiers there that will get a charge out of him being there, then no, I don't disapprove.

I know this man is a socialist and probably hates this country, categorically 180 degrees out from when Bush went to Baghdad, but there are soldiers - soldiers fighting for their country there who do support him. We owe them some measure of consideration, even if they don't fully realize their misplaced loyalties.

Bush actually visited the troops in Afghanistan ON THANKSGIVING DAY! He didn't squeeze them in between holidays and vacations.

Bush gave them his holidays. Obama gives NOTHING!

Best wishes for your son sir, he deserves our deepest respect, not the CIC whose orders he is sworn to obey.

If one has to travel to dangerous Afghanistan,* I believe SPC niteowl77 Jr would recommend Bagram as the best destination by far, as luxurious accommodations and fine cuisine tend to decline in quality precipitately as one travels outward from the Kabul/Bagram area.

(Incidentally, I have it on good authority that it is currently cold enough in the higher elevations of Afghanistan to allow leisurely eating of ice cream.)

Mr. niteowl77

*Did AP use the descriptive "dangerous" when GWB went to Afghanistan or Iraq, or do they insert that just for Leader Dearest?

Okay, they aren’t dumb. I get it. BUT, don’t tell me there aren’t those small few who don’t support him. I’m not that petty to deny them the opportunity.

If after, I believe, Jan 8th the third in line to become President is the Speaker of the House John Boehner.

So let’s hope nothing happens with the Communist and the clown until after Jan 8th.

How many mosques did he visit?

Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

It has nothing to do with pettiness. These guys are putting their lives on the line daily, and for what?

Until this administration decides what victory looks like, and communicates that vision clearly, they’ll continue to labor under restrictive ROE, unable to prosecute the war proactively.

“Hearts and Minds” doesn’t win conflicts. And Skippy owns this, and the troops know it.

I’m done talking with you people. I’ve posted more than once here about pulling our troops out because of ROEs and the like. But I will not defend common decency in this any more. It is wasted effort, apparently.

“Best wishes for your son sir...”

Thank you very much. I never miss an opportunity to let my son know how much he, and the rest, are appreciated by the rest of us.

I was honored to serve Thanksgiving dinner to some of these guys. Whenever I get depressed about our country, I think of them and I have hope again.

(If you’re still lurking...)

What you call “common decency” is suspect as to the purpose and timing. Call me a cynic if you like, but I’m just going on the actions over the last two years of a president who has embarrassed this country worldwide on countless occasions.

People notice this stuff. And they comment on it as well.

I do understand what you are saying..I just can't bring myself to even try to like this traitor I would only love it if he was arrested along with his Czars and his master Soro’s..

As for Johnson he was a bastard and a drunk..he was also a womanizer like his boss Kennedy..
