I have seen it in Korean street fights, when [usually starting as something trivial like someone spills a Jinro on somebody else's table and suit at a snack bar] a guy is beat to a bloody, semiconscieous pulp, but still proceeds to fistfight and kick and spit and lung at his opponent, to get as much blood out of the other guy before he himself is either kicked unconscious or stabbed to death. There is a real "I'm going down, and so dammit, you are going with me" MASSIVE NEAR SUICIDAL RAGE I have seen in the culture in not too few occasions throughout the ROK, I am sure it exists both a) on the streets in North Korea; and b) within their inner elite. This could be it on a national scale, yes. They are horribly hermetically sealed and paranoid at the same point, not to mention like a cult that has weapons and has been cornered.

Thats North Korea for you.

At any rate, I want the first US cruise missile to be reserved EXCLUSIVELY for the Kim Il Sung Mausoleum in Pyongyang (and I want North Koreans through NYC diplomatic channels to know this specifically), and I want the second missile headed to take out once and for all the U.S.S. Pueblo near the Ssuk Islet on the Taedong River, in active service but in DPRK/KPA enemy hands, with no US crew onboard to risk.

when you think about it, we could use some of that zest in our culture.
