Reps. Keith Ellison and Raul Grijalva were elected co-chairmen of the Congressional Progressive Caucus Wednesday night, according to liberal lawmakers. Rep. Donna Edwards finished third in the three-way race for two spots.
Grijalva, who represents a district in southwestern Arizona, was already a co-chairman of the caucus. Ellison, a Minnesotan, succeeds California Rep. Lynn Woolsey.
Grijalva became a bit of a progressive icon in the stretch run before the mid-term election. Angry about Arizona's stiff new immigration crackdown law, Grijalva made himself a target for defeat by calling for an econimic boycott of his own home state.
Hispanic colleagues and other progressives, including MSNBC host Keith Olbermann, rallied to his side with campaign checks and other support.
Ellison is one of only two Muslims in Congress and has become a leading voice for progressives on a variety of issues — at times showing a willingness to challenge party leaders in Congress, as well as President Barack Obama.
Edwards, who represents Maryland suburbs outside Washington, D.C., declined an offer to take a secondary leadership role in the caucuses, Democratic lawmakers said.

Ellison is a hate-America friends of jihadist POS. Grijalva is a Mexicana Marxist. Lynn Woolsey was a died in the wool red. Just as bad as Schakowsky, Waters, Conyers.
The use of the term “Progressive” is a misnomer for some. They are hardcore marxists/communists, some going back 50 years or more (Conyers, Abercrombie, D.Davis, Filner (A red diaper baby)), etc.
Others are marxists-lite.
I feel ashamed that Raul Grijalva was re-elected by my fellow Arizona voters!
Each and every Raul Grijalva voter bears a responsibility for the evil that this Communist is going to propagate in the next two years.
How moderate democrats can stand just how extremely leftist the leadership of the DNC has sunk to... How can they stand the stench?

My friend will be running against Grijalva in two years and she will win. She’s a beautiful, articulate, hispanic woman..a naturalized citizen who loves this Country. Ruth McClung lost because she was white. Did you know that Grijalva can’t drive because he has had too many DUI’s? Did you know he showed up DRUNK to his debate? It’s incredible.
Why do they seat those two scumbags?
