I like Dick Morris though I cant say I always agree with him, and Monday was one of those times. Morris wrote:
The short list of contenders for the nomination will not be chosen in the early primaries. Iowa and New Hampshire will not impose their will on America. America will impose its will on Iowa and New Hampshire.
The quarter finals will not be waged in the cornfields of Iowa or the former mill towns of New Hampshire. They will be held in the living rooms of America among the Fox News audience!
Morris cites Fox News growing audience, especially among Republicans, and I can agree that they will certainly be influential. But ultimately it will be what voters in the first caucus and primary state that will have the biggest impact. Here are eight reasons why.

New Hampshire and Iowa have passed their curse on the repubbies since the “anointing” of Bush I in 1992.
How would the Republican Party go about changing all it’s primaries to “closed”... assuming it was of a mind to do so?
Each state legislature would need to change it.
I seldom like what comes out of IA and NH, so I’m encouraged by the fact that Morris is usually wrong.
I can’t stand Dick Morris although I often agree with him. He leaves a slime trail.
Well, since Bush had no challengers in 92 it would be hard to blame Iowa on that one. However, Iowa did chose Bush over Reagan in 80 so you can hang that one on them. Iowa has become a circus and less relevant with each cycle.
I think Dick Morris is saying that Iowa and New Hampshire won’t necessarily give us Huckabee and McCain. That would be a good thing, wouldn’t it?
I would rather have Palin, Pence, Pawlenty, Barbour, or Jindal before ANY another RINO gets the nomination. I don’t understand why the writer is against what Morris said.
I sure as hell hope not...damn New Hampshire democrats screw with the GOP nomination every time...wide open primary. NH = moonbat central.

New Hampshire just went very conservative this election. Mittens, who didn’t win last time, has zero chance this time.
mittens couldn’t even beat McCain... that tells me all I ever need to know about him.
2012 is Palin’s to lose.
You may not understand Republican primary voters. Many are as uninformed as their Democrat cousins. All they know to do is select the last loser from the previous cycle. It has to be someone they’ve “heard of.”

Heres how I think primaries should be organized:
My suggestion is basically to hold the first primary in the state that has the highest percentage of GOP votes in the last election, the 2nd primary in the 2nd highest, and so on. 2 primaries a week for 25 weeks, with the last primaries being the suckup-to-the-democrats. And the democrats could easily have their primary schedule the same way, if they wanted.
This way, if a state is 60% republican, there is still incentive for them to get out the vote for 61% republican so they can bump up their state in the primary schedule.
Also: Rotate all the states (even the big ones) through an early schedule so that everyone gets access at some point to the front line.
OR
Let each state bid when they want their primary to take place. The earlier the primary, the fewer the delegates they control according to some logarithmic or steep curve formula.

Second thing is the order of the primaries should be determined by the percentage of republicans in the last vote. The higher the %pubbie, the sooner the state appears on the primary schedule, with a mix of big & little states and our staunchest republican states get to go FIRST. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1965735/posts?page=862#862
