The WikiLeaks website today said that it was under a forceful internet-based attack with the site inaccessible to users in U.S. and Europe. The site, which just distributed a trove of U.S. diplomatic documents, said in a Twitter message on that it is under a 'distributed denial of service attack,' a method commonly used by hackers to slow down or bring down sites. WikiLeaks was also under attack on Sunday - but the latest assault - believed to come from China - appears to be more powerful.

Well...I wanna hear some “gossipin” about China!
I don’t recall that wikileaks angered china, but with that many documents, who knows.
Ya think China decided to draw the line @ juicy gossip about Hu?
No China still wants a viable country to repay its dept
Was it The Jester using China’s servers to do it?
1) This demonstrates that China trumps us in assymetrical warfare.
2) Good job on this one, China.
Then you werent paying attention.
Wikileaks had documents that said China would support the removal of the North Korean dictatorship, and that they dont have nearly as much influence as the world at large thinks.
I heard a someone say on Fox News the other day that our cyber invaders needed practice, and Wikileak would be a good target, so was it really China....or are they just getting the credit?? Of course China does have a financial interest in keeping the US up and running.
All I have to say is “Why wasn’t anything done until Assange threatened the Banks?”
I believe that was de-constructed to one diplomat hinting at it, is all. Somewhere on FR was the post.
China DDOSing Wikileaks down would tend to lend credibility to the original conclusion.
You’re right. The global bank heads are angry now! This is getting too personal. LOL
Wait, they have servers here in the U.S.? They take down other sites but not wikileaks?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think those guys have to go to Cal Tech or MIT anymore...
Rut-roh...
Nonsense regarding #1.
How do you think International routes are established to servers on US soil? No doubt a collaborative effort to halt this charade. Nonetheless, the outcome is good. And I will NOT buy anything from Amazon!
Manning will be imprisoned for life and Assange will walk but under indefinite surveillance.
remember when the CIA help americans escape from iran in the carter years and they just said it was teh canadians?
it makes no sense for china to do this.
this is ham fisted obama poofta pentagon getting late to the party.
Too dirty, too hard, and doesn't pay enough!
The Americans held hostage in Iran during the Carter Administration were not released, and the rescue failed, it wasn’t until Pres Reagan that they were released. Carter was a complete failure as a Pres.
Yes, you may be right, or this WHOLE WIKILEAK PROJECT could even have been created to get Obama control of the internet as Sen Rockefeller and Snow wanted in their proposed bill....isn’t that buried in another bill somewhere??? TRUST NOONE, AND VERIFY was what Reagan said.
not the failed carter rescue.
When the embassy was taken, a group of americans were able to avoid capture when they saw what was going on. The were going to the embassy and turned around and gathered the rest. The CIA engaged in a plan and smuggled them out of the country.
I concure wholeheartedly with Reagan.
