Lost my dad literally when we were going to visit him for Christmas. We were leaving on a Friday and blood clots went into his lungs on that Thursday. He had a DNR so there was nothing we could do except watch him pass from the morphine.
I did not realize it was so sudden, so sorry to hear that. IIRC, it was just recently too, so I am sure this season renews the grief.
