I think the ambition of other Democrats is one of the things that will save us from Obama becoming President for Life...along with the strength of public opinion shown in the tea party rallies and the town hall meetings in 2009, and the inability of Obama's gang to control Congressional and state-legislative elections around the country.

The Democrats' bench is weak. Assuming the 22nd amendment is observed, they can't nominate Obama in 2016. Hillary may be too damaged by her tenure as Secretary of State, or too old, to win. The other prominent figures in the party are either too extreme or too disliked to win national office, or too moderate (Bayh, Bredesen) to win the Democratic nomination. If Hillary isn't their 2016 nominee it could be someone who is pretty obscure at this point.
