I’ll say (and respond pleasantly) to either. “Happy holidays” isn’t completely pointless. There are many Jewish people in my area, and sometimes (especially in professional settings) it’s appropriate to acknowledge that Christmas isn’t the only holiday celebrated at this time of year.

And no, I don’t think a Jewish person should take offense at being wished a merry Christmas. But there’s still nothing wrong with taking everyone into account in mixed company.

Yes, I am offended. And I think it's about time WE start speaking up about what offends us.

These people, who are in the minority, who continue to make such a huge deal about their feelings and what offends them, are getting laws changed and our culture and society are being changed because of it.

I'm really quite disgusted that these few people are allowed to get away with taking God and Christ out of everything, because they are "offended". Buck up people. And get a reality check, because last I checked God is the reason you are here...and I'd hate to be you on accountability day. /rant off

I don't get offended either. Usually when I hear "Happy Holidays," it's from someone working in a store. I always respond "And have a Merry Christmas!" and nine times out of ten, they reply in kind and with enthusiasm.
