IMHO, there will be few, if any, that walk away before their contract expires. Those eligible (the older generation) are retiring, and those not eligible (the younger generation) will finish their contract and not reenlist.

The full impact of allowing homosexuals to serve openly by rescinding DADT will be felt when the Armed Forces fail to meet initial recruiting goals (trainees), those eligible to reenlist don't (trainers), and the experienced (leaders) retire. Those who first served in Desert Shield and Desert Storm are now retirement-eligible.
