This is horrible. What is MARTA?
Mass Transit in Atlanta.
There was a very politically incorrect play on the acronym back in the 80’s, but I wont repeat it here.
MARTA is “Metropolitan Area Rapid Transit Agency”.
A joke.
MARTA is the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (bus and train public transportation).

The Metro-Atlanta transit authority: busses and trains.
Its local acronym is "Moving Africans Rapidly Through Atlanta". It actually means: "Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority".
MARTA is the Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit System, Atlanta’s subway. Also known by older locals as Moving Africans Rapidly Through Atlanta.
A lot of TSA agents use MARTA to get to work because Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is at the southern end of the main north/south line. You can get off the train and go right into the terminal, it’s very convenient. The times I’ve ridden it to get to the airport, by the time I got to the last few stops, half my car was low-paid TSA drones who live in the bad neighborhoods of south Atlanta.

MARTA is Atlanta’s transit system.
“What is MARTA?”
Careful - my wife asked that years ago to an instructor when she was first in training at the Delta facility next to ATL, and the answer he gave was tongue-in-cheek and not very kind...
Moving Africans Rapidly Through Atlanta.
Officially it’s the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority.
There is a another name given it by locals, but I would probably be banned if I posted it.
