For travelers going through Spokane International Airport - or any airport - this holiday season, the choice is simple. Either go through a device that allows security personnel to see your body through your clothing, get felt up and groped, or find another way to your destination.
According to an article at the Sun-Sentinel:
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is warning that any would-be commercial airline passenger who enters an airport checkpoint and then refuses to undergo the method of inspection designated by TSA will not be allowed to fly and also will not be permitted to simply leave the airport.
If you refuse to be scanned or groped, you could face a penalty of $11,000 and possible arrest.
Miami-based TSA spokesperson Sari Koshetz told the Sentinel that passengers who first submit and then refuse the process would be questioned by authorities "until it is determined that they don't pose a threat"
The Sentinel reported that the ACLU is urging Americans to petition the Department of Homeland Security to change the policy. In a statement, the group said,
"All of us have a right to travel without such crude invasions of our privacy. Tell DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano to put in place security measures that respect passengers' privacy rights. You shouldn't have to check your rights when you check your luggage."
But the TSA plans to continue the invasive practice.

Ditto's!
All polls over-sample democrats plus they give Obama a
ten point affirmative action bonus before they make the first call.
And then there is the “Dinkens Effect.”
The real poll took place Nov 2.
That’s exactly what it’s about. Among others(including you and me), the lawyer for John Tyner said that the other night on FNC, stating that the Feds want to see if we’ll take it. And, let’s face it, the TSA is no more or less than the equivalent of one of the early ‘30’s Nazi organizations designed to control and destroy opposition.
We need our own “Tiannamen Square” moment in the good ol’ US of A.
Fly nude, fixes everything but air sickness.
I think that’s part of the strategy: provoke us until good Americans are the “bad guy” when they snap and can’t take any more.
...if, on the other hand, people get used to the scanners and do not protest by not flying, then the tyranny will be confirmed.
...it is entirely up to the flying public now as to how this mess is resolved....
Anyone recall this part of a simple Miranda Warning: if you decide to answer questions now you can later halt the questioning at any time. I guess that does not extend to the notion that once you enter an airport and allow them to abridge your 5th amendment rights by allowing them to begin a search you cannot then say, halt stop I recind that demand.
Can the Gulog be far behind?
Looks like I won’t be flying anywhere.
Oh well.
The airline industry has the money, the lawyers, and lobbyists, the media personnel to take on Hussein and his TSA. “
No. I disagree. Maybe against another Administrations, but not this one. Obama has sent the IRS against even individuals who complain against his policies... Among other policies of intimidation.
They are not going to say anything because once they do away with the TSA, the government will NOT stand in the way of their being sued if anything happens.
I seriously doubt (though one never knows) that Congress gave them that much authority (to basically do whatever they want?) when the TSA was formed!
Meanwhile, the Anti-Christian-Litigation-Union (ACLU) is.... encouraging travelers to...."Write Letters?"
Oh, yeah, I forgot, they are tooooo busy defending the (United States Constitutional) "RIGHTS" of "Enemy Combatants" who are captured in FOREIGN COUNTRIES, while trying to kill our Military!
Ah, can you say "Hypocrites????"
Maybe when the new congress is seated in January, the House can refuse to fund the TSA.
If I have to get an $11,000 fine, I’m gonna earn it. Best thing is for me just to stay away from airports and flying until the TSA and these offensive routines are gone.
There is no where I need to go that I can’t drive. AND I can carry while doing it. FU TSA!
Some things are worth an arrest record and a fine.
(I’m going to demand a jury trial)
Of course. When they passed health care despite the objections of 75% of the public, this rogue government was declaring that your body belongs to the state. So why shouldn't agents of the states force you to go through revealing xrays or pat down.
We are nothing but human livestock on a government tax farm. And this latest intrusion is just more conditioning to make the cattle amenable to the eventual ride in the cattle cars to the work camps.
