Gov. Jerry Brown's Destruction of the California Judicary
Flash Report ^ | October 4, 2010 | Louis Barnett

Rarely do you read a devastatingly funny yet as serious a political book as Gov. Jerry Brown’s Destruction of the California Judiciary.

While the title seems like a reach, by the time you’ve read about judges who grow pot in their home, chauffeured murderers, violated court orders and voted to overturn every murder conviction that came before them, you will ask yourself where Governor Brown found so many of these fruitcakes. The book anticipates and answers that question and includes the perspectives of Democrats like Senator Alfred Alquist that Brown “seems to have gone out of his way to appoint people who are extremely controversial.”

It’s easy to see why former Governor Pete Wilson, past California District Attorneys’ Association President Ed Jagels, Senator Tony Strickland, and Assemblyman Jim Nielsen all praise the book.

While Brown left the governor’s office 28 years ago, the book establishes the fact that we are still cleaning up his mess. Serial killer Rodney Alcala, “The Dating Game Killer,” was just convicted for the third time for the same murder of 12-year-old Robin Samsoe. His first conviction was overturned by Brown’s Supreme Court Chief Justice, Rose Bird, as outlined in the Prologue.

The obstacles that Brown’s judges put in the way of law enforcement and prosecutors were outrageous and Kern County District Attorney Ed Jagels on the book’s website www.JerryBrownFactCheck.com tells of light but deadly serious moments at a national gathering of prosecutors where other state prosecutors would ask for a “California story” and be amazed at how out of control California was.

While this book didn’t influence the election, it sounds like a worthy read, especially for current and former residents of California.

Been wondering that about Hussein’s SCOTUS picks.

Hussein’s SCOTUS picks have been in public life for a long time, much longer than Hussein himself.

The first sentence makes it sound as if Jerry Brown wrote this book.

The rest of the ‘snip’ does little to dispel that notion except you see the “tone” of the quotes are anti-Brown.

Wery confusing.....but I will assume that Brown is not happy about this book.

Bad writing.....

People get the government they deserve...and California deserves every minute of it!

Jerry Brown from 1995
http://biggovernment.com/mrichmond/2010/06/10...

The conventional viewpoint says we need a jobs program and we need to cut welfare. Just the opposite! We need more welfare and fewer jobs. Jobs for every American is doomed to failure because of modern automation and production. We ought to recognize it and create an income-maintenance system so every single American has the dignity and the wherewithal for shelter, basic food, and medical care. I’m talking about welfare for all. Without it, you’re going to have warfare for all. Without a universal health care like every other civilized country, without a minimum level of income, this country will explode. You can’t blame the guy at the bottom forever.

At some point there’s a reaction and we’ll see that the real criminals are those calling the tune, making the rules, and walking to the bank. We have the money, we have the brain power. The United States now has the highest measured wealth of any nation ever in the history of the world. We could rebuild our cities, we could create the kind of buying power and community well-being that will provide for peace. The guaranteed income is one way. Another way is to have always the availability of work in a nonprofit, in community service. A third is to start giving people training to develop skills where they can be self-supporting. You could come up with a cash supplement.

"you will ask yourself where Governor Brown found so many of these fruitcakes"

Maybe he ran a short, low key campaign in part in order to stop embarrassing questions about this.

"While Brown left the governor’s office 28 years ago"

Things have changed in that time - he will not get away with it again, and he will have to be really, really, really dumb to try. Flame away.

“he will not get away with it again”

What on earth do you mean?

He DID just “get away with it”, he got re-elected instead of being run out of town on a rail.

I hope the hollywood elitists and the illegal mexicans enjoy one another’s company, because pretty soon they are going to have the whole state to themselves.

he will not get away with it again

That was, in fact, a profoundly ignorant statement. Almost defied logic.

No need to flame somebody who makes an astoundingly naive statement with no supporting evidence.

I sometimes hesitate to further embarrass those who I know realize they're not wearing any clothing two seconds after they've posted; but what the hell .... the cat was already out of the bag.

In defense of the Naked Guy, the author may have been referring to the 3rd time.

There are many on this forum who have “Zero” optimism. Most people need to hit rock bottom to see rock bottom.
Let us pray there are enough Californians to bring it back when the libs have destroyed every income producer and rock bottom is the norm.

You over look one huge factor; The republicans have neither the power, nor the will to stand up to the Democrats in this state.

The Democrats own California and the Unions own the democrats, that my friend was true in '78, '88, '98, '08 and today.
