I am aware of who usually owns airport facilities, and that has no bearing on the discussion. Shoplifting is a local/state offense. State laws do not speak to airport security screening, therefore the state/local law enforcement have no place in that system. Refusing to have some perv oogle your nude photo or grope your junk isn't proof of a crime, nor would it rise to the level of reasonable suspicion. And reasonable suspicion of what? Trying to bring down an airliner? That isn't going to fly (bad pun intended).
We the People are pissed. Get used to it.
"I am aware of who usually owns airport facilities, and that has no bearing on the discussion." Is what someone would say who hasn't a freakin clue how multi-jurisdictional policing is accomplished in this country, and has been for decades. Local police help federal authorities ALL THE TIME, and vice versa. It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that if you act a fool in an airport screening line that you're going to be arrested by the local police, and not an FBI tacteam.
