Forty-five of the nations wealthiest taxpayers, dubbing themselves Patriotic Millionaires for Fiscal Strength, are asking President Barack Obama to let tax breaks expire for those making more than $1 million.
We have done very well over the last several years, reads their letter, posted on their website. Now, during our nations moment of need, we are eager to do our fair share. We dont need more tax cuts, and we understand that cutting our taxes will increase the deficit and the debt burden carried by other taxpayers. The country needs to meet its financial obligations in a just and responsible way.
Letting tax cuts for incomes over $1,000,000 expire, is an important step in that direction.

I would like to see how much those guys really paid in taxes.
The fight to keep the tax cuts for all Americans is about principle, we are not going to penalize someone for being wealthy.
I thought the Democrats held anyone making 250,000 were rich?
First off for the 45 millionaires. The IRS is not stopping you from paying more taxes. So pony up please! Second 45 out of how many? Funny is it not how the richer people get the more they love to tell us how much they care about the poor?
The bottom line is that these millionaires know that a tax hike will mean less competition for them, and it will squeeze out the middle class. Hell even communist still have a rich class. The problem is no one can advance like they can in a capitalist nation.
Now that’s rich!
Wake up everyone, millionaires DO NOT PAY TAXES!!!
What’s WRONG with them that they need the government to take it?
If the federal government is their most favorite charity on planet Earth, then just fork it over!
Didn’t know that existed.
I had a plan all set to send to my congressman that proposed a voluntary option be opened for those that realize they don’t need Social Security to forgo their pmts if they so choose to help solvency...same concept I suppose...
I want it on a t-shirt: Patriotic Millionaires for Fiscal Strength
I'd like to see that number double in the next ten years. You can achieve that one of two ways:
1. Raise taxes.
2. Lower taxes.
Why is making money and having wealth a bad thing in America? We ought to be hopping mad that not more of us are millionaires.
Instead of demanding the opportunity to build our fortunes we mew and whine in the hopes of tearing someone else's fortune down.
