WASHINGTON The House ethics committees chief counsel recommended Thursday that veteran Rep. Charles Rangel be censured for financial and fundraising misconduct as lawmakers neared closure on an embarrassing 2½-year-long scandal.
Chief counsel Blake Chisan called for the punishment despite the veteran New York congressmans plea, in a prepared statement in advance of the hearing, for a drop of fairness and mercy.

Even if this P.O.S. is expelled from Congress, he’s still probably “entitled” to $100K/year or more in pension benefits for life. So keep toiling away at your real jobs - he’s dependent on you.
Sounds like something Tony Parker should be telling Eva Longoria.
The new house should refuse to seat Rangel and Waters and let the dims go to hell!
Rack that!
I had a high school history teacher who would say, "He's so crooked, he could stand behind a cork screw and never cast a shadow".
Let's say anyone of us working stiffs failed to disclose income. Do you think the IRS would just say , "Well OK you've worked hard all your life for 50 years, no harm no foul, don't let it happen again." I'm thinking NO.
OK jackass. You’re not corrupt. You’re BEYOND corrupt. Corrupt is too nice of a description for you, you lyin, no good POS.
“The new house should refuse to seat Rangel and Waters and let the dims go to hell!”
Sure would get my attention!!!
Charlie: If you declare me not corrupt, there will be a little something in the envelope for you.
It’s amazing how full of himself Charlie Rangel remains at age 80. In 5 years no one will remember this ever happened. I can’t even remember the guy who replaced Newt Gingrich as Speaker of The House back in ‘94, after he was found cheating on his wife, he decided to resign. It was Bob somebody. People won’t remember you Charlie, only your family members will, get over it, you’re just another one of 6,000,000,000 on this earth. LOL
Why should he not be branded a criminal for defrauding the tax codes, or can you tell me in all seriousness that he readlly didn’t think he had to pay income taxes on his rent, and that villa in the Caribbean?
If he didn’t know that was taxable income, then he has no business being in Congress in the first place.
He can still go to jail for income tax evasion, though, can’t he?
If you “drain the swamp”, and Rangel and Waters are still there...thats an EPIC FAIL!!!!
Charlie says that he didn’t personally benefit from his “mistakes”. How do you not benefit from NOT paying taxes that you owe? I must either be logical or racist.
