The State does this by standing on the word ‘unreasonable’. The courts have held that as long as you don’t profile or discriminate, no search in the name of ‘public safety’ is ‘unreasonable’. The rest of the Fourth Amendment is ingloriously ignored. That is how the State gets away with it.

Is it time for the consent of the governed to be withdrawn?
