When an impressive contrail was spotted off the California coast last week, it sparked widespread reports of a mystery missile launch in the area – a theory the Pentagon squashed after initial investigations. But, the odd contrail fooled more than the public and media, and was even seen from space.
After watching footage of the Nov. 8 contrail, Patrick Minnis, a contrail expert in the Science Directorate at NASA's Langley Research Center in Hampton, Va., assumed it came from a missile, as many others did.
He even said so in response to a phone call from a reporter.

Shouldn’t be too hard to prove that a missile was launched. You haven’t shown an ounce of proof. If it was a missile, why isn’t it #1 story in the news 24/7? Oh, wait, its a “conspiracy” isn’t it? What a nice excuse.

We do not know if they succeeded or failed.
What if, whoever it was, wanted to set off an EMP at appropriate altitude, and it failed.
They would now want that failed operation covered up.
Your actions stating that video evidence of a rocket launch is not proof that there was a rocket launch, is helping to potentially cover up the actions of an act of war against the US.

Have you ever been on the Island ? I have at least three times. First two times by boat. Even flew a Helicopter to the Island. Also had a overhead image poster of the entire Island. Really neat. Your statement demonstrates you know nothing about the Island. Almost uninhabited in its Northern and Western sections. Lots of mountains. Think there are even wild horses and sheep there. The main city on the south east side of the Island has mountains to its west. Usually shrouded in marine layer. Typically marine layer clears during the afternoon and returns later in the evening.
