Good one! There are a lot of imaginations running wild here, and it’s a hoot.
Never thought that I would live to see so many fainters on FR. Do you think that they would have ever been able to make it in the military in Iraq? (At HQ even, not talking about patrolling.)
Uh yeah I do. however most people aren’t in the military.
Interesting to see you support turning America into a military state.
So what you’re saying is we should accept a Marxist police state because it will prove we would be able to “make it in the military in Iraq?”
You are below clueless.
What does that have to do with being willing to be treated like cattle for a service you pay good money for in the name of PC?
You’ve just shown yourself to thousands here in your own words why you don’t get it.
This is not Iraq, TSA is not military trying to stabilize a country full of terrorists actually armed and shooting at them. You equate us citizen air passengers to foreigners we have no idea if they are hostile or not as we can’t speak their language, etc.
Just like the prior guy who didn’t get it because he works in a prison and says it’s no big deal. We aren’t prisoners either and are offended at being treated that way.
If you get pulled for special screening you have no way to say no to it, you can’t say “I will go through standard screening”, you either have to get beamed and a naked image of you generated (which we now know there have been thousands of said images stored by TSA), or sexually assaulted. Or you have to get your ticket refunded, you can’t just go back to standard screening. If there was a problem in standard screening you’d get looked at more closely anyway, that’s already procedure.
If they gave people that option I wouldn’t have a problem with it, because folks like you won’t mind getting xrayed or felt up because after all, being groped makes you safer.
IBTZ! Troll boy is back!
I've an idea there won't be many of our troops that will meekly submit to this molestation.
What are you saying, anyway? That it's bravery to quietly submit to being molested?
I have family that have gone through the worst of the fighting in Afghanistan - he and his unit have made a name for themselves - one of them is the first living soldier to receive the Medal of Honor since the Vietnam War.
I cannot picture them meekly standing in the airport while some cretin feels them up.
You make no sense. You're kind of thinking is part of the problem.
“Never thought that I would live to see so many fainters on FR. Do you think that they would have ever been able to make it in the military in Iraq? (At HQ even, not talking about patrolling.)”
I don’t agree with these new TSA policies myself, and I’m finishing up my tour in Afghanistan where I’ve regularly patrolled with Marine infantry, Army infantry, and a little with SF and have been in combat. I personally think that rather than buying all these scanners, they should use that money to invest in explosives detecting dogs and training good handlers to sniff everybody in place of these current invasive procedures. It’s quick, effective, and doesn’t bombard people with unnecessary ionized radiation. Dog handling is my job in the military and I am a big believer in utilizing dogs in place of needless police state tactics. Save the invasive procedures for genuinely suspicious personnel and those who fit the normal jihadist profile. While yes, us military personnel are accustomed to this and don’t see it as being a big deal, it has no place in regular society in a nation that’s supposed to be the hallmark of personal freedom. Just my 2 cents.
Really? What were you doing when I was in the military (Infantry) in Iraq? Making an imbecile out of yourself on internet forums?
Regardless of military service, some of us beleive it's wrong to be forced into being irradiated, groped and viewed virtually naked by TSA trained monkeys.
I'm not sure what my fighting a war has to do with any of that.
I have had read the posts to you giving you allot of flak for your personal view on pat downs.
We don’t fly for medical reasons.
But I would like to give my 2cents.
IMO the pat downs are crossing the boundaries of human decency, but not everyone feels that they are.
IMO Calling the pat down sexual assault is way over PC.
If the TSA workers were inserting fingers/tools into vaginas/anus’ or masterbating the passengers without their consent then yeah that is sexual assault.
I think the pat downs should stop.
Anyone with common sense knows if a group wants to terrorize/kill they will find a way.
