“The Federal government venturing into establishing religious and social belief structures is unconstitutional and divisive of the American people. The constitution leaves moral and social issues that touch upon spiritual values to the people, communities and States.”
Read the Constitution. Do you know why elections are held on a Tuesday? It was so farmers could make it to the polls without having to travel on a Sunday.
The first cause of the Constitution was the Declaration of Independence. Did it not base liberty on those inalienable rights endowed to man by his CREATOR?
Did that document not speciffically first enumerate LIFE as one of those inalienable rights?
So, then, your argument about federal impartiality to social issues trips over that fact and falls flat on its face.
BTW, what is the Constitution if it is not first a “social compact”
If you are going to argue about state sovereignty over cultural issues, then you had best be working to undo the 17th Amendment that gutted state’s rights. Or do you suppose I am naive of the present situation that makes the states agents of the federal power, rather than the constitutionally planned opposite?
Again, you CANNOT seperate morality from government, no matter what level of government you choose. WE are moral creatures. Thus we are inclined to desire moral leaders... or we sure as hell had best be if we desire to restore this truly republic, rather than just bring it up for a last gasp of air.
President John Adams took note that our Constitution is suited only to a MORAL and RELIGIOUS people, being wholly inadequate to govern anything less.
The first amendment protects the people against a Federal establishment of religion and activity against religion.
So, it is perfectly fine for an organization to demand the govenerment stay out of asserting and funding social beleif structures of any one group upon the whole nation. That includes humanists. The government should stay out of funding any of it. The people are free to advocate their ideas in the states and communities.
I absolutely agree! I would like to add one more thing.
We can not separate morality and religion from education either! EVERY ( Yes! **ALL**) collectivist government school in this nation is godless in its religious worldview. EVERY ( Yes, **ALL**) collectivist government school in this nation teaches children to think godlessly and **establishes** the religious philosophy of godless secular humanism.
Geeze! And we wonder why our nation is in the pits.
Every collectivist government school in this nation should be padlocked tomorrow. **ALL** of them are a First Amendment and freedom of conscience abomination.
Yes, I am shouting, jumping up and down and having a fit! Why is it that so few conservatives understand this?
