Well said, but a “states” issue. Let us get the Federal government out of it. It is NOT the job of the federal government to “fix” the social fabric.
“Life” issues are state rights issues. Liberty part I agree 10000000%. Amen to that!
Social issues MUST not be left off the table. But, they MUST certainly be moved to the “States” table. NOT the Federal table.
Take note of what sir?
Mr. Robinson,
You know me as an ardent supporter. I say that a simpler mission will suffice for me. Pro Constitution! It implies all other things you say sir. STRICT CONSTRUCTIONIST AND CONSTITUTIONALIST governing principles are what we need sir.
I am NOT a fan of FEDERAL government getting into pro family or pro life. It is and must be all left to the states. Period.
Sincerely,
Indianrightwinger
Define 'social issues'...
Well, you’re half right. It’s none of the damn federal government’s business. They should butt out!
It WAS a states issue until the federal government interfered. The states cannot control these issues until the federal government repairs the damage it has done and backs away.
This notion has been pushed by libertarians for the past several decades, on the surface it may SOUND like the best plan, but it's actually designed to destroy the moral fiber of our Republic.
Just over two centuries ago the Founding Fathers decided that the only way to unify the states was to accept a truly immoral compromise that left a very critical social issue to the states. For the next six decades this issue festered until it finally exploded.
If we learned anything from slavery, it should be that it is IMPOSSIBLE to have a Republic where a human being can be considered a person in one state and not a person in another. Yet this is EXACTLY what is being proposed when it's suggested to let the states decide abortion for themselves.
There are plenty of states where few if any abortions are performed and there is no reason to believe that adopting a "pro-choice by state" policy would save a single life. There would be NOTHING to stop a woman in a pro-life state from going to a pro-adoption state to kill her baby, unless you want to suggest a FEDERAL law that prohibits this, in which case it's back to being a federal issue.
*********************************
The only way one might believe that this is an issue that should be decided on a state by state basis is if one did not believe that abortion is murder. This is where we can see whether someone really is pro-life or whether they are actually pro-abortion, imho.
Exactly!
The Libertarian Party platform is as leftist if not more so than the Dem party.
They want everything the official homosexual agenda pushers want, plus no-holds barred porn and prostitution. The LP platform has not to do with the Constitution.
It’s a fantasy utopian idiocy.
The problem is that the federal government has been enforcing an ultra leftist agenda for decades that has infected the entire country so perniciously that our Republic is in the most severe danger since its inception.
How to undo this? How to exterminate the toxic leftist infiltration into every aspect of life?
Plus, there is no such thing as a morally neutral government. Never has been, never will be. There are only two sides to morality - actual, real morality, and immorality. There is a line in the middle, and it’s too thin for any person or government to stand on.
Name some names, sweetiecakes.
Exactly.....
