A gay conservative group and some Tea Party leaders are campaigning to keep social issues off the Republican agenda.
In a letter to be released Monday, the group GOProud and leaders from groups like the Tea Party Patriots and the New American Patriots, will urge Republicans in the House and Senate to keep their focus on shrinking the government.
"On behalf of limited-government conservatives everywhere, we write to urge you and your colleagues in Washington to put forward a legislative agenda in the next Congress that reflects the principles of the Tea Party movement," they write to presumptive House Speaker John Boehner and Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell in an advance copy provided to POLITICO. "This election was not a mandate for the Republican Party, nor was it a mandate to act on any social issue."
The letter's signatories range from GOProud's co-founder and Chairman Christopher Barron a member of a group encouraging Dick Cheney to run for president and who has been known to post images of his bare torso to Twitter to Tea Party leaders with no particular interest in the gay rights movement.
As of Sunday evening, the letter had 17 signatories. They include tea party organizers, conservative activists and media personalities from across the country, including radio host Tammy Bruce, bloggers Bruce Carroll, Dan Blatt and Doug Welch, and various local coordinators for the Tea Party Patriots and other tea party groups.
"When they were out in the Boston Harbor, they weren't arguing about who was gay or who was having an abortion," said Ralph King, a letter signatory who is a Tea Party Patriots national leadership council member, as well as an Ohio co-coordinator.
King said he signed onto the letter because GOProud seemed to be genuine in pushing for fiscal conservatism and limited government.
"Am I going to be the best man at a same sex-marriage wedding? That's not something I necessarily believe in," said King. "I look at myself as pretty socially conservative. But that's not what we push through the Tea Party Patriots."
That indifference is essentially the point of the gay conservative group.

TEXT OF LETTER
Dear Senator McConnell and Representative Boehner
On behalf of limited government conservatives everywhere we write to urge you and your colleagues in Washington to put forward a legislative agenda in the next Congress that reflects the principles of the Tea Party movement.
Poll after poll confirms that the Tea Partys laser focus on issues of economic freedom and limited government resonated with the American people on Election Day. The Tea Party movement galvanized around a desire to return to constitutional government and against excessive spending, taxation and government intrusion into the lives of the American people.
The Tea Party movement is a non-partisan movement, focused on issues of economic freedom and limited government, and a movement that will be as vigilant with a Republican-controlled Congress as we were with a Democratic-controlled Congress.
This election was not a mandate for the Republican Party, nor was it a mandate to act on any social issue, nor should it be interpreted as a political blank check.
Already, there are Washington insiders and special interest groups that hope to co-opt the Tea Partys message and use it to push their own agenda particularly as it relates to social issues. We are disappointed but not surprised by this development. We recognize the importance of values but believe strongly that those values should be taught by families and our houses of worship and not legislated from Washington, D.C.
We urge you to stay focused on the issues that got you and your colleagues elected and to resist the urge to run down any social issue rabbit holes in order to appease the special interests.
The Tea Party movement is not going away and we intend to continue to hold Washington accountable. Sincerely,
Christopher R Barron

Bullhockey!! >:-(
If you you continue preaching against our fight for God and Liberty, then you’ll be asked to preach it from some other soap box. It’s NOT appreciated here!
[You cannot just change the moral framework based on just legislating it.]
Not suggesting thats the case.
You ever see the poster, popular back in the 70s, of the mouse extending a certain finger to an eagle its about to be eaten by?
Well, it's like that.
When moral miscreant Pirates dress in Earl Gray sheepskin and DEMAND that the rest of us not interfere with THEIR legislative implementation of THEIR agenda - or else theyll burn down the Fiscally Conservative economic village...

...its like that.
I agree. And from what i see, nearly nobody is pro-abourt or pro-gay agenda here. The difference is how to fight it. Some think strategically, some are tactical only. The truth is that both have a place.
I just side with the crowd that thinks radical economic reform can almost completely solve the “social issue” problems.
To me, the bitterness aimed at those of us who think constitutional fiscal conservatism is the answer, is like wanting to shoot down every Zero, and being angry at the guys wasting their time back home in Utah,,,,, as they spend each day practicing the dropping of one oddly-shaped bomb.
We are on the same side, with the same goals. Some of you would do well to remember that neither approach won the war alone. And that there is a time for both.
The TEA movement was financial,, and gave us a B-29 sitting on the runway.
I won’t give you another warning. FR is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-God-given Liberty!! We fight like hell for Life and Liberty!! Don’t like it? Leave already!!
The problem as i see it, is that we cannot have this bunch of gays think that pushing for deep fiscal reform will somehow give them currency to advance their agenda. They must always understand that the destruction of their agenda is right at the heart of our agenda.
This is my prob with Mit in a nutshell. He’s fiscal only, and they know he will never use the budget as a hammer to advance the goal of restoring traditional America. The scorned America of Beaver Cleaver.
Really? Why does this worthy mention?
Also, David Thor Andreasen is a lifelong DEMOCRAT.
“Caligula’s Insane Rome”
If you want a sickening awakening, look at every excess of Rome in it’s late depraved stages. Then look at us today,, we have an equal or equivalent in nearly every category. It truly is terrifying to see America go down the path Rome took. Which is why children are NEVER allowed to study history anymore.
I’m not ignoring those issues. I’m saying that the independents and rats that signed on with us to clean up the fiscal mess in this country aren’t interested in those subjects, at least not at this time. They are single-issue voters, and that issue is the economy/jobs. Now, they see where the zero agenda has led us. Fix their/our economic issues, and we may then be able to get them to join us to move forward with the rest of our agenda.
Don’t be stupid. We no sooner get our people elected into a power position based on correcting anti-zero fiscal irresponsibility, and you all want to go ramming the whole program down the throats of voters willing to give our party another chance for this specific purpose.
Just back off and let this one play out according to what the electorate voted for. Stifle the pub propensity to shoot yourself in the foot at every given opportunity.
The liars are already in positions of power and control. They act on a daily basis to dismantle the controls put in place to protect us from our government and advance their power. The debate should be how to purge these morally corrupt individuals from our government. I believe the Tea Party is on the right track and has been successful based on the message they convey. Ordinary Americans are fed up with being crapped on by their elected officials and demanding a change.
Thankfully and hopefully they will bring with them a better moral code and it will influence where we go next. As for de-funding of Law Enforcement I’m not sure specifically what you are talking to.
I'm not so sure its collapsed. And even if it has, the propaganda factory has now gone on-line.Observe how the youth of today are more "Connected" than ever before - but who have little original to say. They regurgitate what the collective approves of - but lack the tools to assimilate, analyze, and reasonably articulate a perception of self-evident Truth.
I've been online since 1985.Welcome to the coliseum of ideas, Gladiator.
No, the point is that the people who just elected our party to put this country’s fiscal house in order voted for that, not the entire slate of the conservative agenda. Notice than none of the candidates who won made an issue of either abortion or homosexual incursion.
Prove we can govern, prove we can manage what they elected us to do. Build it, and they will come.
You have no idea what King George would have thought up or behaviors he would have approved or not approved of. He was quite the odd duck himself.

The above articles need to be read carefully, the best is to click the link on each one to the Candian Free Press, the third article on FR is just an excerpt, and the others are slightly excerpted I think (I did not post the articles).
They give an incredible history of the “gay rights” moving - the original inventor of the modern “gay rights” movement was a member of the CPUSA - US Communist Part - named Harry Hay.
I agree, it is a sad time when we don’t learn from past mistakes. Rome’s fall was largely driven by the excesses and moral degeneration that developed it, before it had its resurgence post-Christianity. Which is why, I have the following points
“Social Conservatism” should be non-negotiable because it is obvious and are defined by God and not subject to the same flaws that we humans (and our laws) have. The Tea Party Must not compromise on this or get taken over by the posers.
Fiscal conservatism is something we all have a general idea of, you know, smaller govt. limited regulation, free market but the precise form of it is harder to decide because these are based on Human ideas and therefore subject to corrections and improvements. For example, regulation vs rule of law is trickier ground and not obvious. Similarly for things like the gold standard and currency speculation, derivatives etc. etc. We can actually have disagreements on these issues even if we are all fiscally conservative.
We can have No disagreements on moral issues though because its God’s word.
I didn’t say they were allies. It doesn’t matter if they have an agenda that is the antithesis of ours. What I’m saying is that they are right about not using the Tea Party to press a social issues agenda. They want fiscal responsibility. So do we. Don’t fight with them. If they try to assert their platform within the Tea Party beyond fiscal matters, the response is to simply not let them get any power, not retaliate by shooting ourselves in the foot by mouthing off about asserting our social agenda. The left and the media would pitch an all-out assault. We have enough battles ahead of us without starting unnecessary, easily avoidable trouble.
Wise up. For once, try to see the wind up for a punch before it’s thrown at you.
This is about political astuteness - strategy to fight the battle against these scum intelligently, not revealing your entire hand at the start of the game.
Why in hell is it so hard for people around here to get that? The rats have been winning with this strategy for years, so much so that they have successfully led us to the brink of fascism, yet you people never learn.
Since I agree 100% with Jim Robinson’s statement on this thread:

You telling me that I am stupid and I should “just back off” you are telling him that too.
Your claim that independents and rats that “signed on with us” are social liberals is your claim only. If rats signed on, then let them stifle their liberalism, Repubs should not become Dem-lite, which actually they already have, and THAT IS THE FREAKING PROBLEM! You want the GOProud and other homo-nazi-agenda pushers driving this?
Apparently you do.
