Restoring American Stature Abroad
American Thinker ^ | NOvember 14, 2010 | Clarice Feldman

With his characteristic inability to carry his thoughts to a logical conclusion, President Obama seems to have missed that his constant denigration of his own country and apologies for its actions (which, in fact, required none) diminish not just the USA, but its leader, as well. Apparently, he thought such conduct would make him appear greater than us, when, in fact, it only reduces his own power abroad. So, the man we were told by his supporters would restore American stature abroad has diminished our standing and his in one stroke. He seems not to understand that in cutting us down to what he thinks is America's appropriate smaller place on the world stage, he has turned himself from a lead role into a supporting actor, or, even worse, a bit player.

More and more it becomes clear that the Illegal, regardless of his political philosophy, is so utterly stupid and breathtakingly incompetent that he needs to be removed for the good of the country.

As is customary when visiting a mosque, the Indonesian leader, Barack, and Michelle are shoeless. As an insult to her, the carpet spread over the hot, sharp bricks they are walking on is wide enough for only two people. It would be rude for Michelle to walk ahead of the two men; it would diminish her to have her walk behind them; doubtless it would be a diplomatic gaffe if the Obamas walked together behind or in front of their host. So, we have a picture of the first lady, poorly garbed, hobbling barefooted over hot, sharp bricks while her husband and the host smile and chat in comfort on the carpet.

Heh, I bet it sucked to be Barry after his Wookie's humiliation.

I don’t think he is all that stupid or incompetent, he’s just on a suicide terror mission to destroy the US standing in the world.

I don't think the country is diminished in stature at all...just Obama.

Every country makes an occasional mistake in electing a buffoon (look at Jimmah Cahter). I guess it was just our turn.

The country will muddle on as countries do. Muddling, yes, but great as ever--the beacon of human liberty and the genetic stew of those humans who treasure liberty and are willing to fight for it--that unique melting pot which draws on the talents of all human races to produce the best that the world can offer.

As yet, no other country can do this.

Poor Obama, being from other cultures and having other values, did not know this about America and failed to embody this quality.

History, if it remembers him at all, will not do so favorably.

My husband regardless of title would have walked on the brick. Was this an insult or was the carpet just always like that?

Obama has brought HOPE and CHANGE into the lives of millions upon millions.

Like me, they HOPE to live long enough to CHANGE this imposter and his Affirmative Action spouse for a real American president and a real American first lady.

It is likely both. It doesn't take any brains to tear things down. Obama can do that fine. But if he wants to gin up the economy so he'll have more tax money to squander on socialist bullcrap, he's doing a really bad job of it. If he wants to feed his grandiose image as a leading "Citizen of the World," he's doing a crappy job of that too.

I think he really may still believe that by spewing his anti-Americanism abroad he will be adored by foreigners, even as he trashes the country that sends him. Rude handling by Chavez, Iran and others should have given him a clue long ago.

I think the point is, any decent diplomatic corps would have seen to it that the carpet was wide enough for three. This fiasco is on a par with sending Prime Minister Brown a set of dvd's that couldn't be played in Britain because the jerkoffs at State didn't bother to check.

He teats his wife like he treats his country, never realizing that he is diminishing himself in the process.

It's clear that he is destroying generations of work in foreign relations.

The ironic thing is that the Kenyan usurper will be feted and celebrated for the rest of his life by the clueless around the world, no matter how much damage he does. I wouldn't be surprised if he garners another Nobel or two over the next few decades.

My contention is that he is not as dumb as a rock and that he doesn’t want to spend more money, necessarily. If he can spend all we have now and fix it so we can’t make more he will have succeeded in his mind.

Occasionally he does seem to want to run for a second term to maximize his damage, but his timing sucks and the economy tanked before he could purchase enough votes for a 2nd term (hopefully).
