Remember, whatever goes up must come down. If these were missiles, where did they come down?

Good point. Flew across the USA and landed in oceans on the other side. Middle of nowhere. I had wondered myself till I remembered these were (or were supposed to be) long range ICBMs

Remember, whatever goes up must come down. If these were missiles, where did they come down?If there was no warhead, there was nothing to come down. The booster is somewhere in the Pacific never to be found.

Wasn't the direction over the ocean? Without good telemetry or transponder, we are more likely than not to never find the remains.
At first, I thought a NK show of force was unlikely, but then, so was our Jimmy Doolittle raid over Tokyo. The incredible can be done.

Remember, whatever goes up must come down. If these were missiles, where did they come down? Almost anywhere in the Pacific. The French "routinely" launch ballistic missile from the Bay of Biscay into the Atlantic south of New Foundland and U.S. radar routinely track them. A launch from that location would almost certainly have been seen from PAVE PAWS Beale, that's more or less why it exists. If they had detected an unexpected ballistic missile launch from that location, the U.S. would have gone to DEFCON 2, if not DEFCON 1.

Remember, whatever goes up must come down. If these were missiles, where did they come down? Kwajelein Atoll is the usual target in the Pacific Missile Test Range.
