Surprised either one or both didn’t make it to the list based on what I have heard about Dallas and what I know about Houston. When planning a trip to Dallas this fall to go to State Fair and play golf, several people who live there told us to not be anywhere near the fair grounds by ourselves after dark and gave us a list of once great golf courses to stay away from because of robberies. People in hotel there also warned us about being out late at night. I don’t go anywhere within the city of Houston after dark except for the Village, River Oaks and West U areas. There are many parts of Houston where the police no longer go so there are no crime reports generated so no stats.

Most of Houston is no more dangerous than those areas.

This is an out and out bald faced and stupid lie.

The Memorial area, where we live, seems to be pretty safe. There is a little newspaper that lists all the police calls in the area every week, and there are very few incidents. The vast majority of those will be traffic stops of DUI’s, after midnight and break ins of cars parked on the street. The occasional theft of construction site materials also.
