When I first read about Maryland announcing (post election) that its projected deficit had grown by a third compared to what was stated prior to the election, I had to laugh. Then I began to notice other states playing the same game.

California-double what some leading lawmakers predicted a week ago

New Mexico (Richardson Drops Bomb-reveals additional $190 million deficit)

Maryland, California, and New Mexico can't be the only ones playing this "Oh look, the election is over so now we can tell you the truth about the deficit" game. If your state has suddenly found the truth, please post the info here-thanks!

Happened decades ago here. Governor running for election to a full term said we were in great shape. Not so. There was an editorial cartoon in the paper shortly after that with a caricature of the (Dem) governor saying “with 100% of the vote counted it is safe to project we now have a huge deficit.”

The budget chief of Devil Patrick, dictator of the People’s Republic of Massholistan says that state is facing a “significant” budget gap, rumored to be between 2 and 3 billion.

One billion of that being the burgeoning cost of RomneyCare.

As a Massachusetts resident, I plead with those of you in the other 56 states to refuse any request for a bailout.

I ask myself why the idiots think they can get away with this refusal to face reality, but then I realize, they always HAVE gotten away with it. They’ve always been saved by quick, strong recoveries.

Ut-oh...

The MSM will spin it like this:

The economy was well on the way to recovery.
Now a bunch of republicans have been elected and now the economy is going to hell in a basket.
0B0Z0 and the Dims had it right and economic recovery was just around the corner until the evil Republicans were elected

The one state that should make the rest of the country nervous is Texas. The state budget deficit in the Lone Star State is expected to grow as high as $25 billion. Since its state constitution requires a balanced budget, Texas will be looking to cut services in three key areas: education, healthcare, and public safety.

Fiscal Problems in Texas indicates the USA may be in Critical Condition

The clerks in St. Louis County were told not to send out the property tax bills (with a nice increase) until after the election so they could get their Dem/Union buddy re-elected.

Think I recall Warren Buffett saying during the 2008 crash: “Its when the tide goes out that you find out who is swimming without a bathing suit.”

That was the straw that broke the camel’s back with Grey Davis in California, leading to his recall.

This, and QE2, were "The October Surprise". If these numbers & QE2 had been released BEFORE the election, the Democrats would have been lucky to hold on to their dogcatcher positions.

I couldn't figure out when the October Surprise was going to come, and what it was going to be, and when election day passed without a whimper, I was perplexed. A couple of days later, Bernanke let go with his bad air, and now this.

That's why the Demmies are going to regret keeping the Senate.

NOBODY will buy the notion about the House screwing things up, after the Democrat Media trumpeted the saving of the Senate. LOL! Whottabunchamaroons!
