A candid Michael Reagan dished on each of the main '12 contenders on Fox this afternoon.
On whether Sarah Palin can win a general:
"She has a shot? No. She is too polarizing. Can she raise money for the party? Can she get behind people and help them? Yes.
But she's too polarizing to be elected the President of the United States of America, and by the way, I'll hear about that on my Facebook page."
On Rick Perry:
"Look at the Governor of Texas -- Rick Perry. Probably the most Reaganesque of everybody out there. Has a new book out there, Fed Up.
Would love to be the President of the United States of America. Most Reaganesque."
On Mitt Romney:
"What Mitt Romney has to do is find charisma. He's got the Meg Whitman problem -- can't relate to anybody making less than $1 million/year.
If he wants to get the nomination, he's going to have to learn to relate to the people in Iowa and across this country."
On Jeb Bush:
"Most qualified Republican on the planet is Jeb Bush.... the problem is: his last name is Bush; not Reagan."
On Mike Huckabee:
"Very good, but with Mike Huckabee, he's got the problem with the police officers in Seattle. I know it wasn't his fault, but he'll be blamed for it. He's going to have a problem with that.
But I will tell you this: if you want to be the President of the United States and get the nomination, you need to have the passion of a Michael Huckabee.
Truly the passion. Right now a lot of those who would like to be President don't have passion in their voice.
They're not believable when they speak.

Perry’s new found conservatism is phonier than a 3 dollar bill.
That Perry stuff was sheer nonsense.
Michael Reagan is a good, decent man. But he’s not the brightest bulb.
Most talk show hosts aren’t.
I don’t disagree. But like I said, they are all phony conservatives. Unfortunately, anyone of them with any experience is going to have a record that is not conservative. We just came out of a period of liberal control, and anyone who was part of it can’t claim conservative credentials. I would like to see someone new, but realistically it’s not going to happen in time for 2012.
No one has repeatedly smacked down the Obama administration and called them out than Sarah.
No one has raised more money or helped other Republican candidates than Sarah.
No one has battled corruption within her own party than Sarah.
Sarah has repeatedly said that if someone comes along and makes a more effective case for leading the nation, then she will step aside and support that person. She does NOT spend her waking hour fantasizing over the presidency. So far, I ain't seeing anyone (Senators, Congressmen, and 2008 retreads excluded, we need a Governor) make that case.
Gov. Mike Rounds of SD, are you listening?
I see "polarization" as a good thing. People know where she stands, there are no gray areas, and she's not going to lose anyone who already supports her. All she has to do is make her case to those who have doubts about her in the middle. She will never get the leftist vote so she doesn't even compromise or pander to them. That's the beauty of being polarizing. In the end, people can then decide if they want freedom or socialism, instead of blurring the lines and chasing after this pretend center.
Not quite that bad, but in the same league, anyway
Probably true. I would argue that Rush, Beck, and Levin are notable exceptions.
FWIW the tea partiers are going to sort this out in primaries this time, not the SRM.
This is the difference for better or worse.
2012 may end up wacky in some ways but one thing is for sure, and that is lefties are not going to deliver another RINO for a nominee.
You're about as screwed up as the liberals. Sarah Palin is the only one who has the balls to stand toe to toe against Obama and expose him to the American people for what he is. Romney doesn't have that kind of courage and neither does Huckabee, or anyone else for that matter. You're just another wimp. like Michael Reagan who would rather just dismiss her offhand.
Do you really think that the liberals are just going to hand everything over without a fight? Get off your lazy F-ing ass and fight for your country.
Okay.
Close enough?
Hope, Arkansas, and Plains, Georgia, have permanently filled their quotas--no more US Presidents who were born there.
Wisdom and IQ are not always correlated either. Medved and Prager might beat most talkers in the IQ department, but they also lead in the stupid RINO positions area. Rush is still top dog. Levin and Savage are sharp minds, though in different spheres. Beck is just learning conservatism IMO. The rest are middling or worse.
Forget Huckabee, he cant’ play bass worth a crap!
For what I sincerely hope is the last time, Huckabee did NOT pardon a cop killer. He okayed the parole board reducing the sentence of a teenage burglar who was sentenced to 108 years in prison. Years later, after moving to another state, being imprisoned again and released by other officials with no connection to Huckabee, the guy killed someone. Unless you have a magical crystal ball yourself, please don't slam Huckabee for not being able to peer years into the future.
He can cook up a mean plate of squirrel though. That’s gotta count for sumthin
And thus the irony about Michael Reagan and his comment.
Polarizing is OK with me, provided that it wins. I don’t want another 4 years of the Messiah. I’d even take Romney over the Messiah.
Palin isn’t polarizing......the left merely attempts to marginalize her by painting her as extreme, because they are scared sh*tless of her.
