Liberalism is like Freddie Kreugar....One can never kill it for good. There are enough communist and idiots and communist idiots to resurrect it. We will have to continually put a stake in it’s heart for perpetuity.
>>For the foreseeable future, liberalism is dead.
In MA other than slight gains by Republicans in the state legislature, just about every pol is a Dem. Voters were
presented with great, young, vibrant GOP candidates. Instead
they voted to re-elect Patrick, Frank, Tierney, Coakley,
and others, and in open races picked Dems* (10th district,
treasurer, auditor, etc.) It is not dead here. Meanwhile kudos to NH and Maine which went from blue to red.
*—And just watch in 2012 when Vicky Kennedy launches a bid
to recapture her husband’s seat.
Liberalism, as espoused by Jean Jaques Rousseau, is dead.
Modern “progressives” are not liberal.
They do not believe in individual freedoms.
They do not believe that our rights were endowed to us by our Creator, and are therefore unalienable.
Progressives promote the power of the State. They are totalitarian statists.
To the progressives, our rights are granted by “the People”, whose opinions can be easily manipulated by the lapdog press and government propaganda.
That is why, in the Progressive Animal Farm, some people are “more equal” than others.
That’s why we have absurdities such as Moslem-trumps-Gender-trumps-Race.
All of which is subject to change with the vicissitudes of public opinion, which in turn is manipulated by the State and its toadies in the Press.
I don’t know about liberal/libertarians, but I wish the progressively destructive, leftist, communist, marxist, aka, democrats would.
Liberalism is the cockroach of ideas. Liberalism will never be dead and gone. We must constantly and incessantly spray these buggy ideas with truth and light.
Libera is the root word of Liberty. It means freedom. The left represents chains and bondage.
