Republican Fred Upton of St. Joseph has coasted to a 13th term in the U.S. House with a rematch victory over Democratic challenger Don Cooney.

Upton wants the chairmanship of the Energy Committee in the House.

He need not be--he apparently believes in Global Warming.

The only thing Upton should be given is the Dim Bulb Award for advocating the banning of incandescent bulbs in favor of the poisonous mercury dim bulbs. We don’t need any “green” politicians in the GOP to scam the taxpayers. The Dems have taken on that role.

I don’t think he’s “green”; I think he’s crooked. His grandfather founded Whirlpool, and Whirlpool’s headquarters is in his district.

You can bet that Whirlpool is planning to profit from this ban.
