Has no one ever seen an airplane contrail at sunset?
I have. I have also seen the launch of an Atlas IV rocket from Cape Canaveral from a hotel balcony in Orlando, roughly 45 miles away. It looked very similar to the video they are showing on the news.
A jet contrail has a much smoother flight pattern than a rocket.

Rockets zig zag in flight? Or is it variable high altitude winds dispersing the contrail?
