Americas favorite fictional mogul could be looking to move his office from 30 Rock to Capitol Hill, MSNBC reported today. The network is quoting sources close to actor Alec Baldwin as saying the actor intends to challenge Randy Altschuler of New York for Congress in two years if the Republican candidate ends up winning the House seat currently occupied by Rep. Tim Bishop, D-N.Y. The Altschuler-Bishop race is one of a handful still deemed too close to call; the most recent count shows Bishop, a four-term incumbent, trailing by less than 400 votes. Baldwin is no stranger to politics. He has been both criticized and acclaimed for his outspoken support of the Democratic Party (he donated $2,000 to Bishops campaign this year), and in an interview with CNN last year, revealed his interest in running for public office. The desire is there; thats one component, he said. The other component is opportunity.

oh good GOD!
SPARE US!
Waiting now, expecting the media to pile on like they did to Christine O’Donnell.
Or for that matter, some FReepers.
Will there be replays of the infamous phone call to his daughter?
Why not? Just another democrat clown. They’re all clowns and idiots anyway.
Speaking of hotair......
I hope he doesn’t berate his daughter again.
Only the Dems would think that this is a good idea. They don’t live in the real world. Plus, it would be fun to see Baldwin as a freshman member of the minority party.
Dumb and Dumber - when Alec met Al
But I digress. Just play the recording of his infamous phone call berating his daughter (and, I daresay, numerous recordings of his verbal abuse of his former(?...I don't keep track of this stuff) wife), time after time after time AFTER he declares his candidacy for ANY office, and he'll subsequently be elected approximately 5000 years after some scientist HONESTLY demonstrates the postulate of anthropogenic global warming.
“Actors are cattle...”
With Alan Grayson gone, Alec Baldwin wants to volunteer to the the ‘Rat Party’s certified horse’s ass.
Actually, he would fit right in, as he can't tell the truth. Wasn't he going to leave the country if Bush won a second term?
This man is on my "can't stand to look at" list, along with Streisand and a large % of Hollywood.
vaudine
I’d like to see a replay of his 1998 appearance on the Conan O’Brien show, where he called for stoning Henry Hyde to death.
vaudine
My district. Sigh. He won’t win. Just play the tape of him bitching out his daughter.
A giant @$$h0le running for a spot in the Rump Parliament.
Heres the exchange as transcribed by MRC news analyst Paul Smith.
Conan OBrien: "Before we leave, I gotta ask you. Its no secret that you are very political. You are a very political person. Its no secret that you have actually had some associations with the Clintons. That youre a liberal man and I thought you know today, this is a historic day and youre one of the most politically active actors out there. What do you think?"
Alec Baldwin: "I was in Africa. I go to Africa. I mean ladies and gentlemen I am in Africa. For three months I am in the bush and I come back. I come back here and I come back to what? I mean what is happening right now as we speak? Right now the Judiciary Committee, the President has an approval rating of 68 percent. The President is very popular and things are going pretty good and they are voting to impeach the President. They voted on one article of impeachment already. And I come back from Africa to stained dresses and cigars and this and impeachment. I am thinking to myself in other countries they are laughing at us twenty four hours a day and Im thinking to myself if we were in other countries, we would all right now, all of us together, [starts to shout] all of us together would go down to Washington and we would stone Henry Hyde to death! We would stone him to death! [crowd cheers] Wait! Shut up! Shut up! No shut up! Im not finished. We would stone Henry Hyde to death and we would go to their homes and wed kill their wives and their children. We would kill their families. [stands up screaming] What is happening in this country? What is happening? UGHHH UGHHH!!!!"
