But she would have no chance in the general election for POTUS.

No, you're wrong, and GWB could't be more wrong, if it is really true he feels/or has stated this.

BTW, how much representative experience, from a national perspective did Abraham Lincoln have before he became President?

Two years as a US Congressman.

How much executive experience did Abraham Lincoln, you know, the guy who started the GOP, have before he became President?

Zero!

When offered the position of secretary or governor of the Oregon Territory, he turned it down.

Do you know why?

Because, The territory was a Democratic stronghold and acceptance would have ended his legal and political career in Illinois, so he declined.

Because he took the long view of his career and realized that taking that position would have hindered his effectiveness and also, how far he could go.

Now, do I really have to connect the dots for you here?

Or was it simply because his wife would have pitched a fit if he had? Just something to think about. :)

Anyway, how did Abe Lincoln figure into this?

My point is, it bothers me the way people seem to worship Palin in the same way people worship Obama.

It’s creepy.

Sorry, but I’ll remain cautious and not be so eager to jump into Sarah’s fan club until I feel some degree of certainty that she’s the best candidate.

Well, there's a great example for ya.

The guy who plunged us into a war that killed 1 out of every American 6 men in the prime of their lives, wounded just about as many, and scarred the continent for generations... a war that resulted in the deaths of more than half a million innocent civilians (in today's terms, it would've been more like 5 million)...

A war that would we fought with... ourselves.

The guy who unconstitutionally suspended the writ of habeas corpus, shut down hundreds of newspapers, and illegally imprisoned tens of thousands of political opponents.

The guy who originally gave us all-powerful federal government.

Honestly, the more I know about Lincoln, the less impressed I am.
