He thinks he controls TOTUS, but it controls him. I think he really believes he is saving America, not bankrupting it, because he’s been told that’s what his policies are doing. That’s why he’s so effective as a communicator. He sincerely believes the lies he’s telling because he’s too stupid to realize they are lies.
