Jerry Brown , governor redux, and California exits left

California voters have spoken -- and for the most part, they decided to stop the wave of anti-Democratic voting that swept the nation at the Sierras.

Now California will have a Democratic governor, Democratic Legislature and with the passage of Prop. 25, Democratic budgeting process. For years now, the Dems have been blaming the Republican minority for the state's budget woes. That's over for the next two years. Whatever happens next with California -- it will be on Jerry Brown and his party. I sure hope Brown will prove to be the maverick he hinted he would be.

Talk to your average California Republican voter and you heard little enthusiasm for Meg Whitman. Conservatives voted for Whitman because she wasn't Jerry Brown. . . .

On balance, California voters bet that the feds would rescue them. With conservatives gaining control of the House, a bailout is out of the question.

What should happen is that if California should fail they loose their statehood and become a territory. That would get rid of 2 Senate seats from a leftist state. The same form NY. Then they would have to reapply for statehood. The federal government would then be able to send troops and federal marshals in to clean up the immigration mess.

At least it would be a deterrent to doing what they are going to do which is setup a bankrupt marxist regime inside the United States.

Yesterday we caught the end of an interview with a very Stunned MoonBeam.

He look like he was stunned to have the job and sounded like he had no plans to get us out of financial trouble except for hoping for a better economy to get more sales taxes/ income taxes when the ecomomy got better.

We old goats will probably just stay here and bitch and moan about where our states has gone and will go.

I’m concerned about losing good young people. We have young relatives, who are seriously looking to moving to a red state to get out of this mess.

Then, we have a few younger relatives who own businesses or have a control over operations of businesses. Many of these people who create jobs/products/services might just pull the plug and go to other states. They will start getting offers that will be hard to turn down to relocate their businesses to other states.

So true. Of course in about 2-3 years our property taxes will probably be more than our federal taxes to pay for the illegals, white/black deadbeats, union thugs and elite rats for their votes for MoonBeam.

My prediction - the states will continue to pass state and federal programs (mental heal, social services, public health) on to the County level without sufficient funding, infrastructure, expertise/resources or understanding of the complicated accounting like triple flips, ERAFS, realignment and maintenance of effort. Consequently, Counties will begin to founder and have problems providing basic services as General Funds are tapped to pay for shortfalls in the programs. (Places Modoc, Trinity and Siskiyou have already found themselves, as well as some of the larger N. Counties.)

As bigger chinks in the mortar come off due to defunding of supportive programs such as rural cops and sunsetting of the Secure Schools and Community Act (backfill for loss of County’s share of national forest timber receipts used for schools and reads,) it will be revealed how bad things really are. Responsibility for failed General Law Counties will default to the state and the whole shebang will hang on the back of California if she can stand up under it.

In sort of a kill the golden goose scenario, Counties will no longer be able to staff sheriff’s departments, maintain roads, prosecute offenses, respond to emergencies and have libraries because every penny is being devoted to entitlement programs, union wages and benfits and maintaining a bureaucratic workforce devoted to meeting piles and piles of expensive regulations from the nanny state.
