Not necessarily - it all depends on where the turnout is. From the Gallup models, both turnout models strongly favored the GOP - the lower one was a little more favored though.

I wish I had the answer. All I can say is I hope that a LOT of disgruntled Democrats vote conservative this time. Praying it be so.

I’ll take a shot at this.

As I understand it, Democrats are notorious for being lackluster voters. Dem voters include many young people who have heads still full of mush from recent schooling, and the welfare gang which doesn’t get up early and often doesn’t even know it’s election day, especially for midterm elections. These two voter bases compose a large % of their group.

Young people who two years ago were looking for Hope and Change cause it sounded too cool, are not particularly moved to fight hangovers to go vote for, as an example, a Chris Coons. Same with the welfare class.

So a LARGE turnout depends on which party is doing the large turnout.

In summary, well there’s really no correct answer as to what a large turnout means as we don’t know, until the results I suppose, WHO’S doing the turning out.

EXCEPT.....a large turnout for mid-terms, as many pundits and popular sentiment have been vocal, is unusual. The common thought is that most likely a large turnout will likely be due to Republicans as this group expresses more voting passion in the various polls, AND there’s a visceral mood in this country to get out and tell Obama to stuff it where the sun don’t shine. The welfare class will probably sit this one out.
