It just all depends on how you look at some things..
Judy Wallman, a professional genealogy researcher in southern California , was doing some personal work on her own family tree.. She discovered that Senator Harry Reid's great-great uncle, Remus Reid, was hanged for horse stealing and train robbery in Montana in 1889. Both Judy and Harry Reid share this common ancestor.
The only known photograph of Remus shows him standing on the gallows in Montana territory:
On the back of the picture Judy obtained during her research is this inscription: 'Remus Reid, horse thief, sent to Montana Territorial Prison 1885, escaped 1887, robbed the Montana Flyer six times. Caught by Pinkerton detectives, convicted and hanged in 1889.'
So Judy recently e-mailed Senator Harry Reid for information about their great-great uncle.
Believe it or not, Harry Reid's staff sent back the following biographical sketch for her genealogy research:
"Remus Reid was a famous cowboy in the Montana Territory . His business empire grew to include acquisition of valuable equestrian assets and intimate dealings with the Montana railroad. Beginning in 1883, he devoted several years of his life to government service, finally taking leave to resume his dealings with the railroad. In 1887, he was a key player in a vital investigation run by the renowned Pinkerton Detective Agency. In 1889, Remus passed away during an important civic function held in his honor when the platform upon which he was standing collapsed."
NOW THAT's how it's done, Folks! That's real POLITICAL SPIN - also a joke.

“Takes a looooong time to find the name, usually you can find it upside down before she does.” (in re poll workers)
So funny, same thing happened to me. Crotchety old lady spent about five minutes looking for my son’s name (he and I were voting together). I could see it upside down and far away so I finally pointed it out to her so we could move along.
We were about the 79th and 80th people voting at our LIBERAL city polling place, California, at 1 pm.
Don’t know if that’s normal, high, low, or what. Usually it is empty when I go, but I don’t usually go at 1, so who knows.

I may have gotten that wrong. Someone told me that there’s a FUBU shirt out and it could have been that.

That makes more sense that that is what I saw and mistook the U for an O.

Do you disagree that close races usually go to Democrats? Please see Rossi’s last bid for Senate in Washington, or the more recent Franken debacle in MN. Or are you just “braying” about nothing?
And there’s no way I could throw cold water on any gain of 6+ seats in the Senate and 60+ in the House. Unfortunately though, Christine is their biggest target.

Now that I've finally caught up on this thread, I will report.
I voted at about 12:30. Small town in WV (4,394 people). Polling place in a church with one computer touchscreen. First thing, had to show voter registration card which the lady matched to my entry in "the book". The book has all registered voters in our precinct listed in 1 inch spaces with a tear-off end piece. I had to sign on my entry and she gave me the tear-off piece and a pencil.
I decided not to vote straight ticket just in case. I noticed that all the people I wanted to vote for were listed first in the columns. Voted for John Raese, Shelley Capito and the rest were mostly Tea Party candidates. I didn't notice what number I was, but it's a very small precinct. The touch screen functioned well and I could see the printed ballot in a side window of the computer. After I voted I had to give my little "receipt" to another lady who threaded it onto a string. The stack of receipts was about an inch thick. This is pretty much a Republican county. One of very few in WV. Our Clerk of Courts is a Dem, but I know her and she is a Christian and I believe she is honest. I don't expect any voter fraud in our county. Can't speak about the Sec. of St.

Voted around 9 am, Monroe County PA. I believe the county went for ZerO in '08. No lines, steady flow though. No problems. A non-smiling elderly poll workers, just the lady handing out the 'I Voted' stickers was smiling.
This was in our local paper yesterday and made me laugh!

As for DE, COD was really hurt in the beginning with the GOP establishment basically abandoning her and with Castle refusing to endorse her and support her. If Castle and the natl GOP had rallied behind her right away, shed be a lot better off.Yes, still fuming over that. That's why I think it would be the Ultimate Referendum if Christine won. Not only Obama, but the RINOS and Republican elite too.
C'mon Delaware, answer the Call!

Just heard an interview with Tom Jensen, pollster for PPP, on the Tara Sirvatius Show on WBT, Charlotte.
The question was, what is your message for Democrats today?
Tom answered “However bad you thought it was going to be, it’s going to be worse” (or words to that effect).

Turnout in my precinct (85% Obama in 2008) was heavy today. Covered by Republican poll workers - they and I stood out in the crowd. I dressed in my painting clothes so as not to stand out by my attire.
