Thanks fk.

It's ridiculous that the tribe is not named.

Greg Sarris is apparently the tribal chairman of the "Federal Indians Of Graton Ranchiera" - the group is named after the property on which the casino is located. They claim to be the descendants of bands of both Coastal Miwoks and Kashia Pomos.

Sarris' biological father was purportedly Emilio Hilario. Hilario's mother was the daughter of a Tom Smith, who claimed to be part Miwok.

So Greg Sarris' biological father may or may not have been one-eighth Coastal Miwok.

And one-eighth is a stretch, since there were only 1500 Coastal Miwoks in 1770 and there likely have been no full-blooded Coastal Miwoks since the 1840s.

If Sarris is right about the identity of his biological father, chances are that he is one sixty-fourth Miwok or less.

Uh, what is the name of this tribe?

The Boxer tribe of course or as some call it, the half-step-neighbor-in-law-of-a-third-cousin tribe.
