President Barack Obama's counterterrorism adviser said Sunday that authorities "have to presume" there might be more potential mail bombs like the ones pulled from planes in England and the United Arab Emirates.
The foiled plot "certainly bears the hallmark" of al-Qaida's Yemen branch, known as al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula, and the terrorist group is "still at war with us and we are very much at war with them," deputy national security adviser John Brennan said.
"We're trying to get a better handle on what else may be out there," he told NBC's "Meet the Press" as he made the rounds of the Sunday talk shows representing the Obama administration in the wake of the latest terrorist scare. "We're trying to understand better what we may be facing."
Brennan noted that because of the continuing threat, the world's largest package delivery companies — FedEx and UPS — have suspended air freight from Yemen. Police in Yemen have arrested a young woman on suspicion of mailing the bombs, which were powerful enough to down airplanes.
While he said "we feel good" about the steps taken since the thwarted plot, "I think we have to presume there might be" additional bombs.
"They are a dangerous group. They are a determined group. They are still at war with us and we are very much at war with them. They are going to try to identify vulnerabilities in the system," he said.
He told CNN's "State of the Union" that "it would be very imprudent ... to presume that there are no others (packages) out there."
Speaking about the Yemen branch, he said the U.S. "will destroy that organization as we are going to destroy the rest of al-Qaida."

BTW, it was a UPS inspector that caught the package, not Incompetano’s boys, they just whipped up the press conferences rather than work the case. If this were more than a press event, we shouldn’t hear about this for 6 months or so if ever.

The timing of this right before the election smacks of Al Queda’s train attacks in Spain right before their election that resulted in the Leftists taking over.
However, Americans are much smarter than Spanish voters and will ask themselves, “If this country is in such danger, why are BO and his university dweebs in charge?”

While the terrorists currently pose a greater risk to our physical health, they are a far smaller risk to our Republic than you and your communist/fascist supporters. If YOU succeed, then we will not have the ability to defend ourselves from the terrorists (which were all supposed to start loving us once the affirmative-action lobby put our first multi-culti president in office).
Therefore, for our own “safety,” we must first defeat YOU and your supporters politically and reduce you to nothing more than guests on Oprah’s new quasi-religious talk show.

Um, Mr. Brennan,... you forgot your script. Your remarks should read "overseas contingency operations" - not "war". The only ones this Administration is genuinely "at war" with is the American People.
