The Vatican has called for Israel to end its occupation of "Arab lands," noting that all of what we define currently as Israel is "Arab land."
That the Bible must not be used to justify either their occupation' nor their injustices' against Palestinians.
"The Holy Scriptures cannot be used to justify the return of Jews to Israel and the displacement of the Palestinians, to justify the occupation by Israel of Palestinian lands," Monsignor Cyril Salim Bustros, Greek Melkite archbishop of Our Lady of the Annunciation in Boston, Massachusetts, and president of the "Commission for the Message," said at Saturday's Vatican press conference.
"We Christians cannot speak of the promised land' as an exclusive right for a privileged Jewish people. This promise was nullified by Christ. There is no longer a chosen people - all men and women of all countries have become the chosen people."
You've just been witness to a significant event in the End Times unfolding, amigo. The Vatican stating that Israel is "no longer a chosen people".
The Vatican has just nullified the Bible, and elevated Replacement Theology in full public view.
This is .... stunning.
Vatican synod calls for end to Israel's occupation'
Some what say it’s “stuning” as well.
Some would say it’s “stuning” as well.
Give me liberty or give me a stress test.
Did they also call for all church officials to leave Israel and all churches to be converted into mosques?
Someone please tell me that this is not an official Vatican position.
I guess that they don’t take the Bible seriously in Rome.
Dear God,
Why are all the moronic Catholics from Boston..denomination not withstanding?
Did they mingle with the Quacky Quakers in the eighteen century or what?
Please help us?
Can they move to Jordan and join the palis in their real homeland?
Please help us!!
Gosh, that’s a surprise! Here all this time I thought they were right on the money. /sarc
And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. If any man have an ear, let him hear. He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints. And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. - [Revelation 13:1-18 KJV]
Seems the Vatican has lost that old Crusader spirit, and also forgotten how the Moslems happen to be in the Jewish and Christian Holy Land in the first place.
This in spite of the fact that it is recorded exactly that way in the Bible. But now why should the Vatican let a little thing like Bible verse get in the way of modern day political correctness and cow-towing terrorists and extremists?
What an utterly idiotic modern-day liberal view: we're all chosen/special/winners... It's all about feel-good self-esteem even if they haven't done anything to merit/earn it. If everyone is chosen, then no-one is chosen. If everyone is a winner, then no-one is, we're all tied for last.
This is not an official Vatican position. It is the statement of a Synod of Catholic Bishops from the Middle East, meeting in the Vatican, at the invitation of the Pope, who did not participate in or control its deliberations or proclaim its results. These Arab Bishops have tended to lean against Israel over the decades, in part for the protection of their flocks.
Calling on readers to clarify for the poster.
Perhaps a Methodist would like to translate?
Thanks.
This must be a joke! Or have the jihadist infilltrated the vatican as well
There is no argument and you should not worry about defending it. The Jewish heritage is the chosen people. The Gentiles are saved by God through his presence and understanding of Satan through Jesus.
How very brave these arab bishops are.
