s Green Socialism EPA's Real Goal?

Government: While it destroys jobs with its regulations, the EPA has an opening for an "environmental protection specialist" whose job it is to help the agency meet its "environmental justice goals." Meet its what?

If socialism and environmentalism had a child, it would be called the Environmental Protection Agency. Established under President Nixon to ensure the quality of our air and water, it has become a tool of social engineering to implement President Obama's promised fundamental transformation of America

The EPA is looking for someone with "knowledge of the theories and principles of environmental protection, especially as they relate to issues of environmental justice and the impacts of environmental laws, policies, legislation and regulation on minority and/or low-income groups and communities."

The job, located in New York City, pays up to $84,000. No college degree is required — just a hatred of industry, development and fossil fuels, and a belief that minorities are the deliberate victims of capitalist exploitation.

Come to think of it, that description fits the Obama administration's departed "green jobs" czar, Van Jones. He believed that white America deliberately poured its pollution into minority communities and sought redistribution of wealth in the name of environmental justice.

In January 2008, Jones spoke of an "environmental justice community that said, 'Hey, wait a minute, you know, you're regulating, but you're not regulating equally.' And the white polluters and the white environmentalists are essentially steering poison into the people-of-color communities, because they don't have a racial justice frame."

His most famous rant occurred at the Powershift Conference in March 2009. There, he spoke of "our Native American sisters and brothers who were pushed and bullied and mistreated and shoved into all the land we didn't want, where it was all hot and windy."

But now, he added, they "own and control 80% of the renewable energy resources. No more broken treaties. No more broken treaties. Give them the wealth! Give them the wealth!"

Van Jones may be off the roster of the administration that picked him, but his views remain and permeate the EPA and its policies.

To "give them the wealth" requires that it be taken first from those who created it. That presumably would be a main task for the new environmental justice coordinator.

EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson has made environmental justice an EPA priority, and in July the agency released a 56-page "guidance" to help its employees "advance environmental justice" to low-income and minority communities. Is Green Socialism EPA's Real Goal?

Posted 10/27/2010 07:22 PM ET "Achieving environmental justice is an agency priority and should be factored into every decision," the document noted.

This document is a fulfillment of an executive order issued 16 years ago by President Bill Clinton directing every federal agency "to make achieving environmental justice part of its mission."

President Obama campaigned on a promise to make "environmental justice policies a priority within the EPA." That's why he picked Jones, a self-proclaimed Marxist, to be his "green jobs" czar.

The net effect of EPA and its activities has been to discourage job growth nationwide and in low-income and minority communities in particular. EPA is an active agent in the redistribution of wealth that will eventually make all of us equally poor.

The EPA recently listed 76 community groups and governmental agencies that will share almost $2 million in the form of "environmental justice grants." The Connecticut Coalition for Environmental Justice will use its money to train eight housing authority residents to train others how to recycle.

The West Harlem Environmental Action group will use its grant to "identify and address the problems caused by climate change in Northern Manhattan."

Perhaps they'll post lookouts to watch for advancing glaciers.

The EPA's job is to regulate air and water quality, not to chase phantom pollutants such as carbon dioxide or to make pollution a racial issue.

Industry also brings jobs to low-income and minority communities, and if the EPA is as concerned about the environment and "environmental justice" as it says, it would be pushing for the construction of safe and clean and job-providing nuclear power plants in these very communities.

Read your constitution, Jim.

Only congress may write law.

Do you really think the Founders left some loophole in the law to allow an unelected bureaucrat to write law?

But if you can find some penumbra in the constitution that allows an unelected bureaucrat to write law, let’s see it.

Congress may no more pass a law to allow a bureaucrat to write law, than obama may give his war-making power to Bill Ayers.

Let’s not get crazy, Jim. You’re much smarter than that.

Which is why the Environmental Protection Act is unconstitutional.

I think we are in complete agreement.

(Another one): Less regulation = more liberty. Remember, it all began when they talked us into having public sewers!!
